Assuming someone is only attacking with 3 vs 2 rolls, why would your advice be attack less? Offensive dice = advantage while defesnsive dice = disadvantage (in theory of course....)

Re: If you were Lackattack...

And I'd definately not consider introducing dice as part of the logs. This would increase the size of the logs quite a lot, and would require quite some more maintenance etc. (especially since some people will try to check how it works when you auto-assault 10k vs 10k troops...). The gains in the ...

Re: If you were Lackattack...

I would honestly love to see a way for non firefox users to be able to record and total dice rolls in a game both for and against you.

Just my 2 cents. I would think all the data is easily available and could be added to the log (with question mark in fog games that revealed at the end).

If it was ...

Re: How does using a dice file differ from rolling?

The dice were tested from a pool of volunteers for any signs of 'streakiness' about a year ago. There were no statistically significant anomalies in the findings as far as I remember, although I'm certainly of the opinion that auto-attack does seem to jam up in either direction more frequently than ...

Re: How does using a dice file differ from rolling?

Actually I don't think it changes the odds (it's still 1 in 6) but it will change the amount of times that 1 in a million oddball factor (and especially the streaks) show(s) up. it's kinda like the real game.... you're all using the same dice on the board... if one player rolls all 6's does that ...

Re: Flaw in computing randomness

You have to take out 3 groups of troops to win a game.

Group A: You have a single 1 to fight off, but must take out 1 territory with a single and another territory with a 2.
Group B: You have a 10 to fight off (again just one stack) and have to remove 12 armies seperated over four territories in ...

Re: How does using a dice file differ from rolling?

I think it is that we are all pulling from one massive file and , yes that would affect the results (streaks?),... hence some of the strange things people see. my opinion only but hey, it would explain a lot

Well, this is exactly the kind of stuff that i want to discuss in here.

How does using a dice file differ from rolling?

Im interested in any opinions (or facts) about using a dice file like CC does. Does it mathmatically differ in any way from actually rolling dice? Are long and short term odds/probabilities effected in any way in comparison?

Does each player have their own file (dont think this is the case) or is ...

Re: Multiple game creation

I dont see how anyone could think this is a bad suggestion.

My partner and I often create 2-3 of the same map/settings and it would be a simple change to save players time.

Just add a drop down (1-10) on the current game creating page with text asking you how many game to create..

Re: Yet more dice observations

For number 3 do you mean 3 on each territory or 3 attackers vs 3?

4 vs 3 (3 attackers) = 52% win
3 vs 3 (2 attackers) = 20% win

Ahh, so angry.

After I lost my 50 vs. 31, because of course makes sense, the guy I'm playing takes me from 33 to 10 with his 12. Then he destroys me with a 16.

Of course.

Here is another math lesson:

You have played 1500 games, let's assume they were all on doodle, let's assume they were all 1v1, and let's assume that you never had to attack anything other than your opponent. And let's assume games took 6 rounds. Let's also assume you've won half your rolls.

1500 ...

Re: Yes, another dice thread

Here is something i just picked up on and has helped me *somewhat accept* frustrating dice.

The most common outcome in a roll is either a 2-0 or 0-2 (combined % is in the mid 60's while a 1-1 roll is around 33% i believe)

The nature of the games i play (doubles, flat rate or none, small-medium ...

I have played in quite a few games where people have thought Gen pop was needed in order to win and they battled it out in there, while another player did damage in the other cell blocks or guard area. Bottom line, if a player gets a great drop in Gen Pop and clears it out quckly, there is not ...

Is this map worth playing?

I ask because it is very clear that whoever clears gen pop out wins.

In a doubs game me and my partner lost had made an excelent strategy so far and if I won a 10vs3 the game would be ours. I lost and we lost the game. But that was one game and the great strategist is not the one that complains about losing a 10vs2 is the one who's ready to lose a 10vs2 and proceed ...

I know times are tough and all but are you really that upset about $10 over a year? (Being that you find $15 acceptable and $25 too much)

So $10 for a year? I know that 3 cents a day or 84 cents a month could probably go a long way to other forms of entertainment....
