Risk copyright
Hi, I used to play and discuss here on CC years ago, just checking it out again. Got a Question. Used to be the creator of this site (what was his screen name again?) couldn't mention "Risk" because he was involved in a kind of cat-and-mouse game with the owner of the game (Hasbro?) over patent ...

Re: Guidance for the prodigal
Nuts. Thanks. I guess that's one of the changes. I think I was always a "freemium", and I'm sure I played speed games before.
No it’s always been a premium perk, one of the main ones. But looks like at one point someone gifted you a years premium and you got to play speed games :)

Guidance for the prodigal
I've been away for years and a lot has changed, so I need a little "how to". I'm trying to start a speed game, at least I think that's what most simulates 4 or 5 people sitting down over a physical board to play a game. In "create a game", "turn length", it won't let me choose anything other than ...

Re: Quotes we all love to rehear and repeat
Back to the thread subject, 2 of my favorites are actually from Disney movies:
From Aladdin:
The Genie (Robin Williams) when he gets set free at the end of the movie: "I'm history! No, I'm mythology!"
From live-action "101 Dalmatians" (w/ Glen Close as Cruella deVille)

Meh. Good satire actually highlights the weakness of the other position, and doesn't just beg the question.

wait, daddygringo supports communism over capitalism?
I thought he was a conservative all this time... Gaaaa! Read the exchange between me and mrswdk, or shoot, just read more of my original post than just the first sentence. Yes, you were right "all this time", and no, I don't support communism.

Socialism and communism are morally superior to capitalism.
lolk
I guess you live by a moral code that is tolerant of widespread starvation occurring as the result of an under-performing agricultural sector.
Hey, sometimes you have to break 30 million eggs to make an omelette!

Re: Capitalism...What's so good about it?
It's not. Socialism and communism are morally superior to capitalism. The problem is that we as a human race are not morally superior. That's the only advantage of capitalism: if you are trying to solve our economic problems, you have to base your solutions on its principles, because it is the truth ...

Re: Justin Beiber Thought
Well, in the last couple of years he seems to have joined a long line of people who got too successful too young and consequently began living in a contemptible manner. Before that he was just an easy target. Especially, I think the Anne Frank thing was a bum rap: he was just saying that he hoped ...

I'm shocked that everyone missed this one For Mississippi. It's got to replace that whatever-it-is you've got in there. qFhM1XZsh6o
Even this one is more iconic for Mississippi than what you've got, though it's just for us leftover 60's hippies.
