Have a [delete last statement] button, then any mistake can be removed before anyone else has read it.

However there is an easy solution to this problem,

⋅ Move the "post message" button down or make the text ...

Field labels are clickable on all fields on all CC pages, that's a web design standard.

I don't think shifting the button to the right will help much, you can still miss-click.

Perhaps someone can add a chat post confirmation to one of those greasemonkey scripts for people who miss-click?

I think it's a hoot when the other team tips their hand in the game chat. It may be slightly embarassing at times, but I have never seen this king of mistake alter the outcome of a game.
