Well, I was ignoring it. But it's getting rather annoying now. xtratabasco has been coming into a lot of my games trying to get me to spread personal info about codeblue1018 in his C&A thread. At first I found it funny and laughed it off, but it's starting to really piss me off. He's on my foe list as of now, but last time I checked, you aren't allowed to spread personal info about anyone (even if it is a tool like codeblue1018). And he is.

I unfoed him for shits and giggles. He is spreading more info in Game 4075951. This time about Clapper, DaGip, and someone named "Ron".

I'm having to test something out with our formal warning tool since xtratabasco is already on a Forum Ban. He'll be getting at least a warning once it's figured out, but an admin may have to do so.

what is he so fired up about bones? why does it seem like all this is just half of the argument? why is he 'stalking' your games?

Well, I had never even heard of this guy before I made this post. Once I realized he was already in the Guests group I did a search on his name and found a bunch of threads about him in Flame Wars. He really does seem to be a winner at life.

I don't think I had ever played with him or run across him in the past. This is what I believe happened:
1. A C&A thread was made about CodeBlue1018.
2. I commented a few times in that thread about how I think code should lose his chat priviledges.
3. Xtrata reads the thread and wants to chime in, but cannot because he is forum banned.
4. He goes into some of my games to try to get me to add personal info about code since he can't. Maybe he went into other people's games as well that were talking in that thread? I'm too lazy to look, but I'm sure it probably happened.
5. Xtrata got offended that I didn't relay his information and then started going off on me that I don't care (which is true, I really dont) after I told him to shut up in one of the games linked above.
6. ???
7. Profit.

So, all in all, I think he's just upset that his "plan" to get info about code out there backfired and instead turned into a C&A thread about him. He seems to be a person, just from what I've read, that doesn't deal well with the mods here.

That was the most well thought out, level headed explanation of a situation that is possible under the circumstances. It is simply great to read. You clearly just do not understand how someone can be so out of control, and further more, do not care, beyond the fact that the person is breaking the rules, which in this case while remote, could in some ways be dangerous. code may very well advertise his occupation, but thats his right. Law enforcement is one of those areas, where the information, does have a safety issue involved. I find it unlikely that there is any undercover work or anything like that in this situation, but it is theoretically possible. And as much as xtra goes over the line, I in no way think he would ever want any harm to come to code, or even think there is anything unsafe about posting his occupation, but at the same time, he probably should have known better. The rule is there for a reason. This is the internet, with many thousands of players who have access to the info. Player safety, and personal privacy has to be a major priority.

well xtra is forum banned also for a long time right? perhaps he is not aware in the recent crackdown on personal info stuff initiated by the bpb.

and who honestly believes someone on the internet when they say they are a cop?
isnt that one of those things that lots of people say but is never really true?

seems like something not nearly as serious as bones is making it out to be.

Oh I can't argue with that at all; it's a completely silly situation in regards to a rule that I think is even more silly. I said in my first post that I have no problem putting him on ignore (and he is currently back on my foe list).

The only reason I keep responding here is because xtrata keeps pushing the issue. Read through the game chat, he purposely added MORE info about MORE people just because he was... well, I don't know why he did that. Maybe he just wanted to test the rule? But we all know what happens with that around these parts. Had he let it go the first time I asked him to drop it, it never would have gotten nearly this far.

I only made the original post after he commented in a half dozen games (2-3 of which were after I told him I didn't care). The C&A report is more to shut him up than me caring about the stupid rule.

Oh I agree, though he is banned from posting it, not from reading it...but that doesnt mean he knows its against the rules. Im more pointing out that though im sure code can more than take care of himself, it really is a bad idea to give out such info.

I doubt very much xtra really thought about it. I just liked bones response. Clearly a normal guy who is in disbelief a the barage he brought upon himself, by simply posting that code should probably be banned...who at first made a friend of xtra, and then an enemy..... you just cant make this stuff up really... you have to see it actually happen to believe it

Outlaws have a habit of running in to each other on the edges of society. I met xtratabasco somwhere in limbo and he handed a envelope and asked me to deliver to the people's court of CC. Now lets not get excited and shoot the messenger!

Its not private if codeblue gave out his job title to players, if he wanted it private he shouldnt have done it, its not his soc number or code to his safe for christs sakes

It's simple. If he was giving out personal information of someone else, it's not allowed. Private has nothing to do with it. If he was giving out his own personal information, it wasn't okay.

Yes, it's dumb. But this is not the thread to debate how CC enforces their rules. People have gotten in trouble for LESS in the past few weeks.

Again, I only reported this because of xtrata's unwillingness to drop it and leave me out of it.

actually ron, im pretty sure he is explaining the rule perfectly correctly.

Hell, hes not even suggesting what should be done or if he agrees with it. Hes simply stating what the CC policy is.

The reason for the rule is of course to protect people. I doubt codeblue needs protection, but the rule is there to protect others that could actually be affected in a real way. Its a pretty simple rule to follow too.

And to say xtra only starts with people that start with him, well, he posted into this guys game, and he never even knew xtra existed. Its also pretty clear he doesnt care that he exists either, and its actually funny to see the obvious disbelief in his posts.

The simple thing here, is xtra just has to not post personal info about other people. Its a pretty easy rule to follow, and he clearly didnt even know it existed before.

Bones perhaps could have reasoned with xtra and just told him in the chat, that it was against the rules...but its safe to say that would probably not have had much impact. And not to flame xtra in any way, but he doesnt exactly have a track record for obeying the rules.

No sense is this going any further. I don't care or mind that people know what I do for a living although, I understand some people do, hence the reason for certain rules. Take a gander at random users and some, not all have their occupation in their profile. Why this is getting blown out of proportion is beyond me. Hell, I even agree with Fitz in his statement believe it or not. Let it go; it's over!

xtratabasco has already been warned and dealt with by an administrator. No need to make this bigger than it shouldn't be.
