Yeah, it should work. I dunno what program you're using but you can adjust the whole image in photoshop from 840 to 800 no problem. Likewise for the small version.

and btw how a high-sea ship can reach a landlocked territory like Narathiwat in south :?:

I will mess around with it some more, and good point on the HTMS reaching Narathiwat... we will have to see what FarangDemon says as he is doing the gameplay.

On googlemaps, Narathiwat has a long coastline on the Gulf of Thailand. Somehow it is not reflected in this version of our map.

Yeah, you're non playable territory needs a little fixing, for example, the islands in Cambodia over there.

Also, who is the old man?

Famous Thai puppet, very well known in the south of Thailand and an ICON for the south all over Thailand.

I have cs2 (PS) so i should be able to resize these no prob when the time comes.

FarangDemon, can you post the map that shows nara. having a coast?

Spelling/Capitalization/Hyphenation:

Phetchabun
Phang Nga
Suphanburi (buri part of first word, not 2nd word)
Kanchanaburi, Prachinburi, Chanthaburi don't have hyphens while other separated words do

I think you should add some very slight glow on the territory names. At some places where the text overlaps the borders it's hard to read.

Thanks FD & Natty for keeping the suggestions rolling in on the graphics... i dunno if the outer glow is the way to go, people have complained of it before, but here it is again, FD let me know if all the tert names are correct now, hope so.

As we talked about in Live Chat, I think the colors clash too much and I recommend blending a few main colors together. You said red, white and blue are the colors you think of:

I would try to work with colors like this, they would look good together and give your map a more appealing atmosphere.

Just because they are the colors of the flag doesn't necessarily mean those colors really represent Thailand. Look at the Greenland map. The colors on the map are blue, white, grey and they really represent what that country is, you know? I think the red colors, muted reds, darker reds, will be really good for this map regardless, but maybe lighter and muted browns/red-oranges could make the feel of the map also? I'm not sure since I don't live in Thailand :P Ask you wife what colors (not thinking of the flag) she thinks of when thinking about Thailand? It's worth a try.

No need to take offense, grifftron, TBK doesn't think every Thailand-er is grumpy. "the land of smiles" seems cheesy, and I have never heard that before :? Also, you're technically in a civil war when you play this map... Doesn't seem entirely appropriate, if you know what I mean...

Appreciate if you think it's cheesy, but it's called the "Land of Smiles" so I think it should stay.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_of_Thailand

By your reasoning, every map of one single country, city or state is a civil war. So every map should have a sombre mood? Lighten up a bit! Otherwise we'll need to turn all those smiling leprechauns into frownie faces because they are having a civil war for control of the pot of gold.

HAHAHAHA Vick i don't take offense but its not coming off, you know why... look at one of the most played maps on CC, its a map called "Doodle Earth"... look at the small writing in the bottom left hand corner, and tell me again why "The Land of Smiles" can't be put on a map that IS the land of mofo smiles... buy a ticket, come to Thailand and you will see the most smiles you have ever seen in your life in 1 hour.

Oh and just because you haven't "heard something" before doesn't mean its not true man. No offense :ugeek:

Yeah I'm not sure those cartoon children would look good given the current graphics scheme. Unless they were really small and didn't distract from the map. However, even if it doesn't look good, it would be very Thai.
