Are these of any use for naming the regions?

No, not really, I used it to make the territories but the regions names is a big problem.
Actually at that time there weren't any naming for such a big area. And the influence fight between the existing powers was based on a undred's of small territories spread all over the empire and not contiguous. Basically it's the theme of this map. So the delimitation of the regions on the map are purely geographical for game purpose. That's the problem and the only way of naming those regions are nord, ost, west, süd, ost europa, west europa and süd europa... which is not very sexy.

Actually, there were names for sections of the empire - they were called circles. I even found a map here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Impe ... -15-en.png

I think that if you want to maximize historical accuracy it will be best to follow the division into circles but maybe someone will have better suggestions about this.

Thanks for the info, but as I said they are not at the scale of my regions.
So either I split them but there will be a lot of small regions with 2 or 3 territs in it... I'm not a big fan
Or I twist them a bit as following:
    west - Burgundkreis
    nord - Sachsenkreis
    center - Innerkreis
    east - Österkreis
The location problem remain, as you see names are quite long, any suggestions

I think noting that the sea routes and bridges connect territories is a little bit much on the detail, since most people realize that both connect territories after dozens of usages of both types of connections on other maps.

Thanks for support qwert. The strange shape in north sea is called Britain. You know that island where some strange people called britsih are living on. They also use some forgotten language "english"... :D

in the mini-map, does it look bad if u write four territories in full?

there are now good names for each bonus region. the bonuses themselves are well-balanced, so that the easily-attacked kreisen in the middle are worth more than the europa regions on the outside, and i see nothing wrong with the gameplay that u've produced.

if gimil has no graphics issues and the small map is of the same quality as the large one, then i think we're ready for final forge.

I think you could vary the bonus colors to not have 2 shades of greyish color. I have to look for a bit to tell the difference.

I applaud putting the region name in the region, but in my opinion the current names make the map look significantly worse that it did two weeks ago. I'd find a different font, lose the outline effect (which doesn't work with the map), and drop the opacity way down so the names are a part of the map rather than popping out of the map.

It looks good, one thing im not too keen on though is the white gradient as a background for the impassables and maybe the influence.
I just dont feel they fit in, everyhting has a texture and looks great but they're just there being plain and it doesnt fit in.

Perhaps a sort of scroll effect of some kind, using the beigy (sp) colours you have on the map and it could help fit the theme a bit more?

Just a thought.

In fact it does, either it goes over netherland "arrow" or ouside the left frame, that's why I shorted it.

Thanks for the constructive critic. I also wasn't very satisfied with the current effect. I'll work on it.

Westeurope, Sudeuropa, and Osteuropa colors are too similar, could you change two of them to be different colors rather than having all 3 be some shade of grey/tan?

Perhaps if you just changed Sudeuropa the other two wouldn't need a change. It would just break the greys up. Just for the record, doesn't bug me much but I can see where Neon is coming from.

Well, I'm afraid no. The idea is to have the empire with colors and the rest of europe with grey shade. So your proposition is coming against this basic concept so if you can distingish them enough even if it takes a few seconds more, it will stay like this. Look at version 30 when it was more contrasted but I was asked to lower it.
