Stop autojoin in autotournament

I have seen many players deadbeating auto tournament game. Players that left the site keep being auto joined in the auto tournament. That's annoying.
The only simple solution I see is to go back to normal invitation rather than auto joined game.

Problem of missed invitations seems less serious to me than deadbeating player in many auto tournament. Got for example 2 deadbeats in the same group, in which we had like 7 games or so. Also got deabeat in polymorphic game. And I am not in but I have seen deadbeat in assassin tournament / that really ruin your game in assassin when your target changes.

Smthg need to be done to adress this problem.

This needs to go in to suggestions. Auto tournies are not run by the TDs

It's also pretty unfair in 1v1/poly games when someone gets awarded free wins because their opponent is no longer premium or has left the site.

Although, i would not eliminate autojoin.

I would use a reserve list like manual tournaments do. Have the auto engine verify that a player has been online in the last 48 hours and is premium before adding them, ELSE, dip into the reserve list.

Just going back to manual invites would be losing the biggest advantage of auto. It would make them a slow, laborious process dependent on volunteer labour which we have a shortage of. Autojoin is a good thing. It just needs to be refined.

well i think that in the conquer cup 8 for example, where the tournament took a year or so to fill, you need to have that... maybe leave 24h when the game starts before anyone can do anything, but for this or for tournaments with "precious stars" to join, it's impossible to have a good replacements list.

I have 16 four players games with Aussie02, currently deadbeating all of them, in the autotournament "The Championships 2014 - Conquest"
http://www.conquerclub.com/player.php?m ... nt_id=1344

May this be adressed?

I have the same issue with Garbi, although because he's now freemium he was dropped from nearly all the games, thankfully.

Could the system be programmed to send invites? Once the next round is ready to start, they send invites instead of just autojoining people. Just because someone has been online in the last 48 hours doesn't mean they will participate in these games. The person online could be a sitter finishing up their active games.

I'd say give them 2 invites and if they don't accept, go to the first reserve.
