Accidental Deployment at the Start of a Turn

Postby Kid Moe on Mon Jun 30, 2008 1:54 pm

Let me give you a scenario and then I'll give you my question/suggestion.

I'm currently playing an 8 man World 2.1 Fog game and it's my turn, only 5 of us left. I cash an 80 army bonus in and eliminate 2 other players,i cash an 85 and then a 90 army bonus........I study the map and decide to go after red. I deploy 17 armies on the Baltics, study the map some more and realize I should try to knock out blue. I understand that paying attention is a big part of this game, but mistakes do happen and in this case those armies are lost to me, I can't re-deploy them. So my question or suggestion is simple. Is it possible to have a pop up appear after you deploy and before you attack simply asking you "Are Deployments correct"? with the pop-up always on no so you have to change it to yes before you start attacking? I think this will make the game better because strategies change and sometimes when you start to do things you realize something else looks better and right now there is no way to correct it. Maybe a trial run for the 24 hour turn games?

Any Thoughts are Appreciated!

This would lead to freestyle being even more rife with cheap tactics.
For example, player A could deploy away from player B, so as to make them think that they aren't in danger. Then player B makes an attack and doesn't fortify their border because there is no threat. After player B finishes their turn, player A undoes their deploy and rips into player B.
One way to deal with part of the problem you're having though is to install a greasemonkey script that asks you (after you press the deploy/attack/fortify) button if you are sure you want to do that action in the specified location.
