New Recruits should get booted after missing one turn

Postby Jamie on Wed Jul 02, 2008 8:19 pm

I think if you are a new recruit (less than five games played) and you deadbeat after missing ONE turn, you should automatically be booted. Most deadbeats are new recruits, so this would save alot of people alot of headaches, and aggravation. What do you all think?

So, somebody comes to check the site out, gets into a game that's more than they bargained for and instead of being a bit tolerant, we should just boot them?

I think the idea is to get MORE people to join, not push them out the door.

So you think new player have lees a right to a life than you? After all the free play is to let players learn that they can no longer live with out CC and must play more not to piss them off the first few days and send them packing. Any new player could one day be the best player ever on CC.

um, almost all new recruits who deadbeat never come back. They don't realize the games aren't RT. Perhaps they should get booted after missing one turn if they have not played any prior games. If they finish at least one game that means they understand that hey have 24 hrs to take a turn. So ammend this to reflect that noobs get booted after missing a single turn if they have no prior complete games.

Still not fair. That means if they joined just one game because they were testing the site out and missed just their first turn they have no shot at redemption.

I would be happier if they had 2 turns until they have taken their first ever turn

To me this looks like a great way to drive new people away. What if they have a life besides CC?

I didn't say they should be booted off the site. I said booted from that game. Until a person completes ONE game, missing three turns should be a privelidge. Virtually all people who miss their first ever turn never again come back to the site. Why extend the three missed turns rule to the extreme few who come back to the site after missing their first ever turn. It's very simple, until you finish one freaking game, you can only miss one turn. It seems obvious no one who has posted here has dealt with games in which most of the participants have deadbeated. I have played in hundreds of such games, and am sick of it. Perhaps once you reach a certain rank, you should be able to choose an option which excludes new recruits from joining your games. I'd rather play cooks who just by achieving a rank prove they play games, than a noob who thinks all the games are RT, and never comes back. I might lose more pts to a cook, than a noob, but at least I wouldn't have to wait nearly a week to take my turns.

Okay, MAYBE, if they've never completed a game, and they miss their 1st turn. I think it should be first two turns, though.
