In the 1962 US Supreme Court decision of Smith v. State of Ohio*, the Court was faced with a difficult decision. Jim Smith operated a child porn ring in Cleveland, Ohio. The police in Cleveland shut down Mr. Smith's pornography store. Mr. Smith sued the state as violating his First Amendment right to free speech. Ohio argued that Mr. Smith's speech was not protected under the US Constitution.

Instead of determining that Mr. Smith's speech was not protected under the First Amendment, the Court held that no speech was protected under the First Amendment. They felt that if no one was allowed to talk, then no one would be able to make child pornography.

STOP TRYING TO ELIMINATE THE FUN PARTS OF THE WEBSITE JUST BECAUSE OF SOME ASSHOLES!!! There are rules in place for dealing with those people.

these fun parts exist on other websites.

Its better to play in the community when you know the community and become a member of that community. Your dissension is exactly what makes you a happy, unique member of this site. We welcome you thoughts on the forum and we are glad that we have gotten to know you better. Subsequent games against you should be more intriguing.

If you would like to comment on the forums at conquerclub, I suggest you do it at another site. Your comments in this thread are innately external to CC gameplay. Thanks.

Becky, and others have all mentioned some good points. While not all the forums may be strictly related to Conquer Club in a content sense---what they all share in common is that it is our community that is interacting with one another. Conquer Club offers a new of ways to interact with the larger community---the general forum boards, clans/usergroups, strict participation in only tournaments or just games---or maybe medal hunting, etc, etc. The Forum is just one of the many outlets our community interacts with one another.

where does it say anywhere that the "outlet" will be political propaganda or religious (or non religious) zealots constantly bantering about ideology no one has the ability or right to claim? Where does it say that when kid logs on that he will see someone with the name "shitcock" in their avatar? I am confused because I read almost every page on here before I joined and did not read that anywhere.

This is what I thought this website was about

Risk all your troops on a daring land grab. Use diplomacy to coordinate a group assault on the game leader. Feel the thrill of victory as you crush your last opponent.

Welcome to Conquer Club, an online multiplayer world domination game

Designed for the casual gamer, playing Conquer Club is not a time consuming process. You can take your turn in 5 minutes with your morning cup of coffee or in between classes. A game typically lasts several days, but hardcore risk takers can play multiple games at once and stay up all night strategizing their next move.

It's free to play, so what are you waiting for? Register now!

guess I was wrong. I will finish my games and politely leave.

Good day and thanks :D

Good luck finding an awesome game site that doesn't have an off topic section! Or, barring that, good luck on your crusade to bend the will of the man to your whims!

And when you find a site that caters to your every demand, come back and let me know so that I can go and have fun too!

If the forums don't interest you, I encourage you to investigate other community interactions. We always have tournaments going, and I know we've a couple more fun events planned for the near future. Participate and investigate those.

all of those are game related topics, minus the first thread, which is people having fun not standing on soap boxes. I am sure you fail to see the difference.

Most of them are about the game, but not all of them. Want me to go start a politics discussion and see how that goes?

sure. I am sure you will not like how you get dealt with. Well actually you won't care because you have no incentive to be there. So once you are banned, you will just disappear.

Once again, where is all the political and religious nonsense?

I will surely just fade away... Is it against the rules to talk politics? I didn't see anything about it in any of the rules. Unfortunately, it isn't letting me register at the moment. But maybe someday you will see me over there. We can talk about Obama then!

The cool thing about the forum, which many do not realize...is that its not required reading. You actually dont have to read what you dont want to. This is good for me, because if someone actually read all Ive posted in, they would not like me for the many hours I stole from their lives.

I do hope the occasional joke, or completely over-dramatized subject matter, did bring some joy...and even aggrevation at times...but certainly hope, not every person read all of it.

I do agree however, that all communication in the world, should be concise, and to the point, and not be about anything random. It would be a lot more efficient that way. It would also be a hell of a lot more boring.

Thanks for adding yet another irrelevant idea to the forum though. Always interesting to hear another idea.

Always possible. Little bit on the conspiracy theory side, but that doesnt make it wrong. My own personal conspiracy theory is that some even make suggestions that litterally would hurt the site so bad, that they have other sites in mind, and are trying to create opportunity for them.

I myself played on a few other sites. I can honestly say, that I wasted no opportunity to mention CC, how great it was, and offer the link..........

but..... :D .....those other sites were so boring and uninteresting compared to CC.... :D I cant even stand to keep a few games going, even in hopes of a recruitment.

Unfortunately, one of the things about CC, is its basic graphics do make some assume CC is more basic than it really is, and I fear some never try all the maps and options, which are vastly superior to the rest...not to mention the fact that our server, with its occasional hiccup, is also the best one Ive ever seen on these types of games.

So, as you can see, it is possible to plug a site rather easily. Some go to far though at times. O:)

I hate to nitpick your ignorant post- but the consensus of brothels in the world exist because of women who are forced their outside of their will. Someone exchanging money for sex with said women (who has likely been beaten, drugged, and physically and emotionally drained to the point where they do not put up a fight anymore) does not make it any less of "rape".

I would try a less offensive comparison next time.

I played quite a bit on asobrain a couple years ago (under the u/n Jdbrown). The forums over there are not anywhere close to as active as these are. The games are enjoyable, and it's a pretty well-run site. But I have to agree with those that point out the community atmosphere over here. At asobrain, my opponents were just random names that I never connected to anything. Over here I can sit and argue politics/philosophy/religion/mathematics/etc... with people, much like I might over a couple of beers if we went to a pub after competing against each other in some sporting event. Honestly, it makes for a much better site in the long run.

I'm still not quite sure I understand your complaints about the Monkey Business forum. Can't you just ignore it? If I'm in a bad mood and don't care to see what the latest nonsense is over there, I just ignore it and go about taking my turns. I think all the politics and religion is pretty well confined to that one forum, so it's really easy to avoid.

Your petition might get a bit more traction if you were complaining that it was too difficult to avoid because you wanted to play the forum and mafia games and that you couldn't avoid seeing the latest topic for that forum, which you sometimes found to be offensive. You still probably wouldn't have that many people agree with you, but it would give you a more sound argument and would lend itself to some reasonable proposals:
1) Move the two games subforums out of Monkey Business.
2) Shift the Monkey Business forum out of the general category and in to an off-topic category.
3) Make the off-topic category hide able.
4) ... or remove the "Last Post" listing from the Monkey Business forum.
(NOTE: I'm not endorsing any of these. I'm just offering Rainbow Eater a better approach to this suggestion.)

Jesus, nice catch. And you are obviously mostly correct. I dont think every man who was with a prostitute is guilty of rape, but certainly taking advantage of an abducted woman or girl is. My point to add though, is I think suggesting that these men that go to a brothel, would necessarily go out and rape someone, because of a lack of brothel, is for the most part mistaken too. One could assume they would be more likely too, and as you said, in many cases, they are rapists defacto, but there are areas of gray here....but given the way that post was written...I dont think much was taken into consideration.

Too add, not that its needed.... the reason we are here, is to interact with other humans. The forum allows us to do that even more. And obviously, there are thousands of players who make their moves and dont care about the forum. I suspect 5% or 10% of us use the forum at all, with any degree of regularity...and I myself only read what I want...not to say I havent read some things I didnt want to read.

I like the idea of moving the games out, and hiding the last topic line too. Would allow some to ignore things that they would rather ignore. Sure they should control themselves....but this is the internet...and that just isnt always going to happen.

I still don't see why you want to destroy a forum community and deal with the inevitable spillover into general section when it is entirely possible to just not click on the Monkey Business link. If you want to go straight to the forum games you can do that as well. So what's your motive?

Just because things do exist, or did exist, does not mean they should exist.

There will be spill over, but only for a while. If there is no place for people to post nonsense, and end up posting nonsense in places where people actually care, they will be reported and removed. People should have no problem respecting this if this is what CC chooses to do, unless people actually want to disrupt what CC is doing. Those people do not last long and eventually go elsewhere to do this disruptions.

There are other more qualified websites that deal with off tropics, not only in great depth but with greater intellect. I would figure that if people want to engage in that sort of activity, they would want to go to places like that and not a web site based on gaming. Go to a gaming website to engage in gaming and go to a political forum to post you views on politics. Not really that hard to understand is it?

The question he's asking you is...WHY DO YOU CARE?
