Sugg-Penalty Points

I suggest if you START a new game, and drop it, you should lose 5-10 points.

This is to stop the Noob farmers that set up 20 games, see ranked players join, and then drop those games.

Stops noob abuse, penalizes people trying to get around the system. But doesn't punish anyone else from dropping a game, only the person who originated it. So you can change your mind on playing.

Only problem I see is if you screw up making a game (which I have done). but I have only done it 3 times where I immediately dropped it.SO if possible, I would say waive penalty if no one else has joined yet. (I don't think that can be done though).

Points don't go anywhere, they just disappear.

Bad Suggestion, players who were setting games up but then have to go on holiday before they filled etc, would lose points.

:?

That's a bs proposition. I drop games all the time. When setting up public team games it's not uncommon that other players "sneak" in joining your team before your chosen team mates get there. Then you need to drop it and set up a new one in order to assemble your team.

Further, I can imagine that it's not uncommon (especially for freemiums) to drop a game if they notice it takes too long time to fill out. Instant satisfaction is indeed a human trait.

This is only mildly retarded.

What happens to people who host dubs games, and when someone else joins before their partner can and they need to drop?

What happens when someone else joins a game who has your friend on a foe list in a singles game, and you want to be in the game together?

Your trying to address a very narrow situation to which you find problematic when it addresses far too many areas.

This is a good idea. If you do a public team game and you don't get your preferred partner, deal with it. I guess the penalty could be waved if the game doesn't fill up in a week and you get impatient, or something like that. That would probably also take care of the problem of people having to leave on holidays, cause if you start a game and leave the next day, you deserve to lose points.

Deal with it? Amusing. Youre suggesting that a person be penalized points because they dont play with a preferred partner? Itd be amusing to hear that logic applied to any other type of game or sport...

If you don't like that, you shouldn't do it in a public game. And yes, you do do that in sports and stuff. If you were an Olympic athlete you move to a different country because you want to be on their team? Same applies in all team things down to high school, with the possible exception of college. Someone like you might do that, pick the team most likely to win and be on it, but that completely defeats the purpose of a public game.

Idiotic - youre completely twisting a situation. If you go into the Olympics and you already have a specific partner in lined, such as for figure skating, because you perform best with that person, you will NOT be forced to play with anyone else.

If you go into tennis doubles tournament, obviously youll play with a specific partner youve practiced with, not someone random that also joined.

If you go into an video game tournament, youll obvoiusly be on a specific clan team or whoever youve practiced with.

Every post you make you make becaues it sounds like you want to argue. Maybe youre just making these particular because no one would want to do a team game with a cook in the first place and people are dropping..?

In any game or sport, you don't choose your team. If you want to choose your partner, you can make a private game. The only reason to do a public game with a partner is to get people who just joined the game cause they felt like it so you can win. Getting miffed when you don't get the ideal partner defeats the purpose of a public game.

Public game means anyone can join - it means you and your partner are willing to take on anyone. If you are too fucking stupid to see that in any sport you STICK with your team, then this conversation is over. As my points made above concerning practicing as a team prove the point, it's also apparent there is a positive correlation with logic and score...

Hey guys, there's no need to flame each other's comments and opinions.

As for the suggestion, I believe there are much better suggestions for combating the "n00b farmers" such as the No Points for Deadbeat New Recruits suggestion. It has the benefits that jbrettlip wants while protecting the issues that FabledIntegral brought up.
