Since there selling t-shirts of the maps,

how about making boards of the maps so we can play on them with our risk set at home

good idea would work for most maps

3 problems for certain maps (like aor) tho

to many armies are gained and rolling the dice would take for ever

they need neutrals and it would be stupid to have to set them up

they are shit without fog

just use the maps you can use then that don't have much neutrals, and classic doesn't have fog anyway so you can cope

The problem is the size of image needed to make a printed map.

The images currently used on CC would make a lovely map.... that is only 8 inches across.
To make a map big enough to be an actual board, that means a ton of extra work for the person creating the map, because the image needs to be big enough and detailed enough to provide a good image at that size.

So far, none of the maps have been made at the scale required for printed maps.

And anyway, CC might run into copyright problems with Hasbro. I'm not sure.

well as for the copyright theres nothing copyright about putting an image on a board that doesn't belong to them in anyway

That's not quite true... World 2.1 was made as a vector image, and is therefore scaleable, but other than that, I would say that you're right ;-)

The issue with printing a good quality image onto a good quality board at a good price is possibly more interesting...

Is there any way I can get a larger image of the world 2.1 map so that i can print it out and use it at home?

Would there be a way to convert your standard jpg or png into a vector based image? Then we could scale it as much as we want.
