well, if u can ignore someone just bc u have the power to do it, why not use it? who cares the reason if u hates the player or dislike him? i dont think that matters..what matters is if u have the power to do it and in this case, yes, the system allows us to do that then...
nope, it's dumb. just like feedback, you should only be allowed to put someone on ignore if you have played them. period. what is to stop me from putting as many freemiums on ignore as i possibly can, eliminating you from ever joining one of my games for absolutely no reason other than you are not a paying member of CC? i've never played you... never pm'd you... didn't even know you existed before your post. but, i can put you on ignore for absolutely no reason.. just doesn't seem right.-0
I think you're throwing the baby out with the bath water. Certainly there are situations where people would abuse the ignore feature and block people who don't deserve it from joining games. However, how much does that really happen and that same person will be able to find tons of other games to join. On the other hand, forcing you to actually play someone before you can ignore them subjects you to having known a-holes, deadbeats, and sabateurs join your games. Once again, from time to time, someone will post a warning thread about this person or that person joining 100s of games and never making a move. If it checks out, the first thing I do is add them to my ignore list so I don't get stuck in a game with them. Other reasons warrant that as well. It is frankly my favorite element of the feature.
Like feedback, I'm generally more concerned about game play than "rudeness" and only have one person on ignore for being a dick. I just want good games and avoiding known jerk-offs is one way to insure that.
