Dead Beating and Team Games

My son and I were in a team game and were on are way to an easy win. We were playing on disc world and each captured a bonus territory. On this map it has been my experience that if a player takes two of the island bonus chains while others fight for the rest they win.

Well we do this and slowly and methodicly move in for the kill. Team three was never able to coordinate amoungst themselves. Blue and Yellow worked well together and even though never held a bonus except for Ank they always posed a threat.

Speedy, a plyer on team three decides to deadbeat and all of a sudden tiel owns an entire continent, which gives him a six army bonusplus a bonus for territories owned.

Now a game that was a sure win will probobly be a loss unless the dice Gods are bad for the other team.

pisses me off that we played it right only to have the worst team win because of this. To makes matters worse the dead beat gets the points

Does the surviving player get his deadbeat teammate's areas? I didn't realize that.

At any rate, I found the game and it looks like you guys are in OK shape. Though I would have deployed differently that last turn and put more against his 9 than in the Hub. Right now you're looking at 6v6,1,1 to bust you through the Hub and 14 v 1,1,4,1 to bust you through betrobi. Not to mention the fact that he can continue on and get to greens bonus as well. You needed to put more in betrobi.

Thanks for the reply and advice.

Well the problem is that all I can do is feed armies to BMR, which is only 5. He goes first. At the end of his last turn he had taken the third island chain by knocking out blue. So we had three Bonus territories. We fortified all choke points and had 6 to eight on the hub.

Tiel gets his bonus and breaks the bonus island on his border and fortifies with 9 armies, which you see. He goes and we realize we need to break his tiels bonus. BMR breaks tiesl bonus but only has three armies to fortify with plus the 2 in Be Trobi. We need to fortify against his 9 and in the hub as he has 3 single countries along that border, which is the firewall.

No matter where we fortify we leave the other area weak...as it stands he will still get 6 armies with out a bonus so he can march through with his 15 ir try and break the hub.

A cheesy way to win anyway you cut it.

Well you can always hope that cyan just takes back his bonus area rather than busting up you up.

None the less, if you get the chance, take yellow out of the picture. Then it's 2 v1 and you may be able to wear him down. If it gets to that point, you'll get two moves in a row and the first guy should always deploy on an attacking position of the second, that will allow you to do maximum damage because you'll get the most 3 die rolls.

THE GAME IS LOST!

Im so pissed. We lost because of...I dont know what to call it. We couldnt keep up with the army bonuses, Yellow fucked us over and bad dice at one crucial point.

I dont mind being out played but to lose like this just infuriates me.

Yep, yellow did f*ck you guys. That stupid :P he threw out there after his pointless suicide into you would have made me furious.

Nothing worse than people just making useless attacks like that. If he had any chance at all of winning, it was to lay low and hope that you guys and cyan wasted yourselves against each other. All he did right there was throw the game for cyan.

BTW, that's kind of why I was suggesting you take him out if you could. Just limit the variables and turn it into a 2v1 game. I understand that you needed to contend with cyan so that was easier said than done, of course.
