Checking ratings

How many people actually check somebody's ratings before playing them? Does it matter? Or are people more interested in playing the game then they are in peoples stats.Just curious

The last games I picked up I actually had regard for people's ratings in that I saw one guy who had horrendously low ratings from a few people. So I moved on and joined somebody else's.

I used to read -ve Feedbacks to see why someone has 30 -ve's, and then decide if it is worth joining the game with that player.

Now, I find it difficult to divine what 2 or 3 stars mean... was is retaliatory? was it deserved? What exactly are 2 or 3 stars meant to convey?
It is almost a waste of time now..., unless I go into the actual games and follow game Chat...

(I still sneak in and check on the old feedback in players profile. Can not beat it. All the info I need..., and reasonable accurate)
