easiest game to take point from rooikies

Postby azezzo on Mon Jul 07, 2008 2:03 pm

just curious, asking all the veterans who beat up on unsuspecting rookies what do you think is the easiest game to take points from rookies in a 1 on 1 style game?

Win the game. If they are a rookie and don't know what they are doing, then all you have to worry about is doing what you know and they will screw it up for themselves. I have played numerous rookies in 2 player games and they seem to give the game away in the first round, I just sit back and collect on their mess ups.

Search waiting for players, public, casual, freestyle, 2 player. Thats how some wimps (MOBAJOBG and torcav2) make themseves generals.

Interestingly, I can tell you I never go looking to beak up on rooks for points, but if you show up in Livechat there is always some private / cadet / .... who only want to play AoR. So get reasonably competent at AoR and give them what they want...
My ever constant two last games seem to have no end in sight!

Pshaw. It's not that bad... Well, okay, it's pretty complicated (especially with fog), but it's arguably the single best 1v1 map on the site.

Trust me when I say, ...it includes Kemmler's 12 points.

Well, your gameplay skillz will suffer the most if you just play noob games exclusively and there is nobody to be blamed but yourself so I recommend playing against top players whenever the opportunity presents itself.

May I humbly suggest farming 1vs1 freestyle FoW games on maps which would let you start with at least 5 armies and above for your worthy consideration.

Not meaning to decry your words MOB, but a quick glance at your front page of games finished shows 29 question marks, 11 Chefs, 46 Cadets and Privates, 8 corporals and Sergents, 2 Leiuts, 2 Captains and 2 Majors. hardly taking on top players. Page 2 only shows 1 officer of Captain rank, the rest are nearly all Privates, Cadets, Cooks and question marks, it is only on page three that anyone of high rank appears, a Colonel and then just the single one.

What I really meant was ...so I recommend playing against real competent players whenever you feel your gameplay skillz has weakened and in the hopes of learning something new & better than what you're doing.

I've to recommend that those 13 'freshie' troops be registered for intensive survival & bravery training before exposing them to face off against my 4 fearless heroic mercenaries since the last I've checked, they're needlessly massacred in the desert oil fields of Iraq after their commander desserted them.

How about some of you team Players grab some New Players and teach them to play team games. This would help in at least 3 ways

#1 If you have a real low player and lose the points lost would be lower than if to High players lost

#2 It would teach some of the new players skills to survive on this site

#3 It would give you a larger pool of team players as there are a lot of low ranked players willing to learn

You would feel better by being part of a solution rather than the problem.

I am a firm believer in teaching others to be Great Competition for the benefit of this world in which we play in

Quite right oh Wise one.

#1 I actually have trained up a few players now, their ranks are now; Major (from private 1st class) Captain (from private 1st class), 2 x Serge 1st class (still in training). I also have a new novice cook in tow, and am always on the look out for any future potential talent.

#2 The Major is now at such a level, he is also following this creed and forming his own 'teams'.

#3 I heartily agree, however, you have missed the crucial #4 (although I am sure, as a diplomat of the highest order you just chose not to print it here), and that is the enormous benefit of having low ranked players in your team who are willing to follow orders and learn....this benefit is obviously the impact it has on points gained. As I mentioned in another thread, this makes the relationship symbiotic.

That is true I missed 4 and probably a 5. But I do try to not be to long winded. Seems easier to get along with the masses this way.

Fruitcake, i thank you for helping the site to a more Quality level.
