Free Style + Terminator. Is this fair?

I have been playing a couple of 5 minute Doodle Earth maps with Free Style + Terminator settings. I discovered a quite easy way to get some points. Just wait until someone almost finishes another player and make you the final attack. So the other player loses the armies and you get the points. (You can do it because being Free Style it becomes in fact almost a RTS game) I did it a couple of times, and could have done it a third time, but stopped myself, because I felt like cheating.

Granted it cannot give you the game, but will give you a lot of points, and the overall result for the game will be positive. But even if it cannot win the game, I feel a bit like cheating.

What do you think? Is it a fair thing to do or not?

It's perfectly fair. You eliminate someone using the settings of the game. No problem with that, but people generally feel a little annoyed when their kill is being "stolen".

I like those much more than the doodle assassins, but what is unfair and makes people angry is when you suicide into a high ranked player just for the high points you think you will get. Since I am high ranked I obviously wouldnt join one butn I remember last game I played a cook suicided into a major (like a 6 v and left him with one teritory and others just mopped him up. The interesting thing about these termies is flat rate cards and elimination mean it is much better to just build up somewhere deserted (like More Russia) the whole game taking a card if possible, since if you eliminate someone it leaves you weak and you get eliminated yourself!
