Playing for money, or material goods

Postby Johnny Rockets on Sun Jul 13, 2008 9:49 am

Is it considered against the rules to offer a game or tourny for cash? Most likely PayPal $$$ ?? Or to bet oh....I dunno, a pound of coffee or a jar of jam on a game?
Not that it would be expected for CC to police or enforce the winnings.....

Just wondering....

It says CC is not for gambling. YOU could play for anything. Whether it's strip risk or risk for money. But CC won't endorse it

Can I get a mod to confirm this? I don't want a ban if I set up a cash tourny or a 5$ call out game.

if you do it privately and nobody on CC knows then it's ok

Definitely included in our short list of no-nos on the forum guidelines

For ease of use, let me go ahead and quote it here:
[No] Betting or gambling on, through, or because of CC

that would include playing for money or material goods and would be a cause for the banning of your account [-X

With the way US and Canadian online gambling laws are right now - it's just not worth the risk of allowing it :)
