Broke rules

Postby vonkatter on Thu Jul 17, 2008 6:38 pm

I am playing on a map of the bay area and san fransisco and the rule about no one leaving alcatraz is a broke rule since I can not win the game and with fog of war I can not follow who is wining. I am traped and have no incentive to continue the game just to put more troops on an island I can not leave. How do we get this changed? Alcatraz is no longer a prison it is a tourist site so the rule about leaving is not a valid updated version of the bay area. I visited the place and left. I could be playing another game instead of being traped to just add troops on an island. The game at least needs an out so the computer can add the 3 troops every turn and I can leave for a game I have a chance to win.

Ah, that is one catch of Conquer Club. It is similar to RISK, but not identical. Alcatraz here would be considered "dead space", where once you enter it, you cannot get out. If you do want this concept to be changed, you may want to ask the orginal maker of the map for a REVAMP.

Gameplay is not allowed to change during a REVAMP, so that option won't help.

Welcome to the site, and you have quickly learned a very smart strategy when playing on the San Francisco map. I recommend that you take what you learned from this game and try to use it in future games. Isolating an opponent is a great strategy to take advantage of the map's design.
