This is bigger than any community-wide upset I've seen before. Bigger than the upset over Classic, bigger than the railing against ratings, bigger even than the constant mild drone against random dice.. This is likely the biggest chaos we've seen yet.
As I look right now, the top 10 threads in GD are either about the Wicked situation, or the situation with this site in general. 15 of the top 20 threads in GD are about one of those things.
There is a thread about this in FW, and a (locked) one in C&A as well. There was a thread in the chatterbox until it was accidentally moved to FW. (Sweet&Sour irony... nobody can move it back, because the only active mod with powers in FW was Wicked.) I expect someone will suggest that wicked be reinstated soon, or perhaps her firing will appear to be a bug. In any case, this issue is reaching the entire community.
No issue has had this amount of widespread ruckus... There have been other things that have pissed the community off, and the customer service agenda of "let's just wait until people get tired of complaining" has worked every time -- thanks in great part to the fact that payments are year-long. But this issue is the biggest yet; maybe, just maybe, something will be different this time.
