Rant: Weirdo's

Postby owenator on Sun Aug 17, 2008 11:10 am

So, I started playing CC for a couple of months because I was either bored or stressed at work. However, it's funny when you decide to play against other people other than your friends. Like seriously, do these higher ranking players care so much that if you lose a game or somehow the dice rolls against their favour that we are to blame, just because we're their opponents? I think that in all honesty, losing a game graciously is more respectful than having someone be a sore loser and shoot their mouth about how lucky that person was, or if it was a different circumstance that they would have lost, blah, blah, blah. On the other hand, I have come across people who simply don't 'talk' at all....I mean, if I post something like "hey, gl to you and enjoy!". A simply "hey" back is common courtesy. I've lost many times and have said "gg" and still not receive a reply back. Right now, I have this one dude who doesn't respond back to me, but has a hard-on for me because I posted a game for 2 players in Feudal and he snatched them all up. Like 9 games against the same guy?!!! His name is: Mageplunka, just in case you want to set-up a couple of games for the same map - be weary. ANyhow, that's my two cents/rant.

you are spot on mate (well in part anyway)... but due to the anonymity of the interweb:

A) it is less easy to subtly impart the nuances of emotion gradually, as they build.
'grace' itself is often enabled by a 2 way process, missed overtly but subconsciously registered via visual interaction and the interpretation of body-language etc.

And B) it is easier to get away with being an idiot in the moment whilst sitting at your keyboard and repaying existence for creating one with a big nose, goofy teeth, halitoses and a pigeon chest.

They say death is the leveler .. in fact it is the Internet forum.

Sure common courtesy is all well but sometimes especially if you've got like 30 games on the go and not much time to take turns, I forget to post good luck and that in the game chat..

It's a bit wierd to join 9 games against you and not say anything but then again multiple games of the same setting sometimes the chat can be much quieter as opposed to a rt.
