You bring up a good point, jones. If I'm playing a terminator game, and I have the opportunity to take out a high-ranked opponent and receive, say, 40+ points, then I will take the chance of stretching myself thin. Odds are I will end the game with positive points.

It's that kind of mentality which makes me fear Terminator games. The last couple Terminator games I've been in people have been suiciding and weakening me because I'm the highest ranked person in the game.

My point wasn't really about relative ranks:
There are two reasons to take someone out of a game (apart from the obvious eliminating a rival): cards and points.

I once played a no-card, Standard game of CIrcus Maximus ( never again!) - no bonuses, no reason ever to weaken yourself at all to strike at an opponent. No cards, no points unless you ultimately won. (which amazingly I did).

In a game wiht more than two players, there has to be some reason to eliminate an opponent, however weak. Otherwise you'd leave it to another player to do. The reason might be to get, or hold a bonus. It might be to get the player's cards. It might be to earn some points.

If, for instance, I can see (in a Terminator game) that I will not end up the victor, then it makes sense to take out another player before I lose. No? then why am I playing Terminator?
