High rank shows skill in at least one particular area. Having a high rank if you are noob farming shows that you got skill at noob farming. If you have a high rank playing freestyle speed games, shows that you are good at freestyle speed.

Medals shows that you are a experienced player overall. Medals doesnt show anything really about weather or not you are skilled. It just shows that you have Experience/Inexperience in particualar areas.
However, if you have played a low amount of games, have a lot of medals and a high rank. Then that shows that you are a good overall player.
If you have LOTS of games played, have a lot of medals and a high rank. Then it doesnt show that you are a good overall player. Becuase you could just have farmed for the medals, and then gone back to your usuall games and got your rank back up.

Just a little thought on the matter.

Thats not completely correct. JR went down to SGT then went noob farming and got his rank back :D

Could you please highlight the place where im wrong in the example of JR?

Just so i can find it and perhaps change what i wrote in the first place, becuase what i wrote could have come out the wrong way.
Thanks

For instance, klobber has high rank but no medals and he sucks
I got all the medals and a high score

and that to me proves how little both mean

I agree Blitz- it shows diversity in game play and combined with rank it shows success IF they are earned in a natural progression. I don't see the point in going after them all at once. Drop severely in rank- then go back to your original game type.

For an example players like yourself that have excelled in almost every game type. Your medal count is a direct result of your game selection- not the other way around. It shows more value- some would argue the same about how rank is acquired.

i think both are important, klobber does just play that one syle of game, and its not like he's a master at it either, haha. but i don't think medals are everything either, they just show that you play a lot
