Missing posts

why are post made in usergroup forums not counted in the total user post on your profile screen
just wondering dosnt seem that big a deal

im well aware of the obvious fact this has come up before i was just looking for a quick answer

Usergroups aren't moderated by Team CC, therefore, if posts were counted, usergroup forums could be spammed to increase post counts.

Actually, the usergroup forums are occasionally moderated. I remember about a month back some mod came into our old clan (drunk or something) and merged a whole bunch of random threads together that could vaguely resemble each other.

I know leaders can't do that, so it was either a mod, or someone hacked CC. But in general, you are correct.

are you talking a sub-forum or a clan forum? i just don't buy that a mod would go in and clean up a clan forum. the only person to ever poke his/her head into the BpB forum and post that was not a member, was twill... that is it...-0

If it happened when the forums crashed and we lost NYB, that could have done it.

Anyway, another reason I believe is that there's no guarantee of content for the posts, and so they could be about anything, and they want all posts that are counted to be about CC or something stupid like that. For some reason the mods want to make a big deal about post counts...

well, NYB is not a private clan forum, as was stated above. that is why i was looking for clarification. i just don't believe a mod would or could do that. i think you have to ask an admin to clean stuff up for you, and you have to put in a request, if i remember properly...-6cd

Clan forums were lost too, and I don't think that having threads merged because of what happened is unlikely. Besides, as admins are the only one who can see your little forum, I doubt they'd admit it if one of them did pop in and do that.

no comment on missing clan forums not being able to be accessed.. ahem... and if threads were merged within a clan forum, that would be very obvious. the BpB have under 25 members, and any changes with the forum would be easily noticed. merging threads within the NYB and threads in a private clan forum, are 2 totally different things. anybody can see the NYB, not everyone can see the clan forums. and as i stated before, only twill has come into our forum to post a few times about some stuff going on and to field questions and give answers...-0

An interesting thing about clan forums... they are visible to all for a few seconds before they go hidden. either than or one of the latest usergroups that started out happened to admit me to their group then take me out of it before they had any posts in their forum and in the time it took me to notice it and check my wall. I asked the leader, and he said it was the first.

A clan forum is no different from a regular forum in terms of how it's created. Once it is, the permissions are just changed so that only members of a specific usergroup can see it and post in it. Could be that somebody was just a bit slow in setting the permissions.
