Question about ? Joining Games

Postby aries1973 on Fri Nov 14, 2008 10:31 am

I've had ? (newbie) join public games that I started and then they just deadbeat right away. I thought that a ? can't join someones game but it seems that it's still possible. Can someone clarify how you can start a public game and avoid people that haven't proven they'll complete a game?

Thanks!

There currently is no way to keep people out of public games except for putting them on your foes list. This, however, is quite useless against new sign ups unless you constantly check.

There is a lot of discussion on adding in point requirements or ranges to games, or other options on the game finder to allow people more control. Check out the Suggestions forum and look for topics on it.

?'s cannot join team games, however, so you could make those...

?'s also cannot join speed games to the best of my knowledge, or maybe it's freemium's who can't join speed, either way, most ?'s are freemium, so should help if you play speed.

?'s can't join team games. Premium ?'s can join public speed games. You can't start games to avoid ?'s unless you make them private and invite people.

How would new people ever actually complete games if they were unable to join public games.

It's a nuisance, but the only way to do it.

Haha true, but every so often someone goes to Suggs and Bugs and suggests a way to set a range of points for people allowed to join public games.

If you just let them play a few games in their own leauge against other ? it would solve the problem.

This would saolve several problems, from people making games that only ?'s would join, hoping that they'll dead beat, and you can rake in the points, to aleaviating complaints of newbies joining games where they're not wanted.
