How much team talk is expected?

Postby ragendem on Sat Dec 20, 2008 7:06 pm

I don't really have any experience playing a doubles or triples, so I wanted to know:
How much team talk is expected in a game? In the triples game I'm playing, I'm really the only one talking about strategy or anything. How much is expected? Here is why I ask:

Game 3771087
2008-12-16 11:07:12 - ragendem [team]: Pink, you and I should probably go for O
2008-12-16 11:07:25 - ragendem [team]: Red probably will to
2008-12-16 11:08:11 - ragendem [team]: Blue is practically set up to take E
2008-12-16 11:10:43 - ragendem [team]: Yellow, I suggest you try to take out E1 to group your troops up and disrupt Blue
2008-12-16 11:13:26 - ragendem [team]: Green will probably go for F
2008-12-16 11:16:22 - ragendem [team]: Yellow, you might also have a pretty good chance of taking N
2008-12-16 11:17:51 - ragendem [team]: For the above, I mean overall, of course. Not this next round
2008-12-16 23:37:29 - ragendem [team]: Yellow, are you throwing the game?
2008-12-16 23:41:38 - ragendem [team]: Pink, please consider helping yellow out, if we lose him we will lose a turn every round. I'm going to fortify him at A12
2008-12-18 16:19:03 - ragendem [team]: Looks like we're screwed, any ideas?
2008-12-20 17:38:35 - golfer1024 [team]: I have an idea......shut the f*ck up.......

I assume golfer1024 is pissed because it is his fault we are losing, but I just wanted to make sure.

if you have never played before, i would say your expectations are just about right. if you have a few partners or clan members you play with regularly, you will have very little chat between the team, as everyone is generally on the same page... generally, the more you play, the more you know each other, the more you know what needs to done. from time to time, you will get a suggestion or a "did you take that turn drunk?", but not all the time. anyway, just depends on how long you have been playing together, and how well you understand what is going on in the game... looking at your game, the dude that said "STF up" is clueless... good luck!!!-0

p.s.-why not recruit a real life friend you can learn team games together with and make it a more enjoyable process... that is how i got suckered into CC... my best friend got tired of build games and multis in standard games, and bad partners in team games. so, he recruited me, and when i screw up, at least he can mock me for a few days before i go again...

golfer1024 = very rude chap indeed.

I'm lucky enough to have lot's of real life friends to play team games with, you are putting your CC life on the line when you play with strangers!

I've had friends on here before, but they lost interest. I should try to get some of them back though.

Talk is good. In fact, when I play with my regular partner, Tripitaka, we always try to time it so we can take our turn together, and chat about the turn as we take it. Means that sometimes we'll use up almost the whole hour trying to take a simple turn, but it's effective.
