In my experience, it now is a crap shoot. It all depends on whether the enlisted men hit one particular officer a lot. If they do focus on one officer, he will be out soon. The it is simply a game of who get the cards first. I have seen these enlisted men tactics prevail, but it is a messy, frustrating game.

That it is.

Bonus territories make a difference in game BUT their benefits will last for only so long.

It also depends also on how early they are achieved...in this case early enough to hurt....maybeee

An advantage you can gain is worth a little effort, why handicap yourself? Problem is, he might as well paint a huge target on his back as soon as he claims it. :|

I agree...however the problem is always the fact that to hold it one must use resources at the expense of other territories across the board.

I think the worst part of these games is that at least two players lose, the player trying to take the territory and the chumps they exhaust in that territory. The lucky guy with all his troops concentrated outside the territory at issue generally has the best chance at winning. It is real unbalanced.

The 1st and 2nd player maul each other, then there's the laughing 3rd that's waiting for one to weaken to a point that they can gobble them up. The trick is to make sure you're not one of the first two. ;)

Yeah, but it is pretty arbitrary. I hate these games.

I'd say the victory would end up with someone of the higher ranks. It usually does. If I were in the game I would try to get pinks last armies in asia killed.

Very important point Phlaim.

Thats a strategy folks should remember when in similar situations. It will ruin many a bonus holders game.

Except for the fact it only applies to low ranks. Common knowledge is basically when a low rank goes for a continent, he is too stupid to understand what he is doing. Thus everyone typically evacuates and said player gets an easy bonus. If a high rank did the same, the general response from the rest of the players would be "f*ck off" by the other high ranks as he should "know better" and they won't move, possibly even deploy more in the area, whilst the low ranks being too stupid to understand anything wouldn't evacuate and possibly go for the same area and auto-attack the high rank. Thus why try? Of course there are situations where a high rank will go for a continent that he can obviously secure and the other high ranks will evacuate, like if you drop 4/6 of Africa... or 2/4 of Oceania (usually 3/4 in Sequential).
