google-analytics scripts ?

why is google-analytics.com trying to run a script when i access the ConquerClub website?
what data is goog collecting or what purpose is this for and can members opt-out or find some other method for determining this?

i'm down if this helps save the site money or runs things more effectively and all
does CC have an outline on privacy policy and/or how or information is used or could be shared in the future?

Lack may have used it when gathering information for the home page changes and just hasn't turned it off yet.

I use NoScript, no information-gathering by google about me.

As far as I understand the script tracks which IP address visits a webpage and how it came there (did the user click a link on another website, did they use a search engine to find it or did they enter the URL themselves?). It can be useful to know this for marketing purposes. However, the data is also sent to Google Inc. and allows them to extend their alrady sizable database of who visits which websites when.
