Some of you don't play classic, so this would've been a non-issue for you.
Some of you play flat & no cards, which means you could get in and get out quickly.
Some of you play 1v1, which reduces the compleity resulting in quicker turns.
But for me it was not so easy, I had a full compliment of Classic, 6 player, escalating games going. And these settings often require some serious map study.
The 1st few days were aggravating to be sure, but the real frustration came from what felt like an eternity waiting and not understanding why they wouldn't simply change it back while a more permanant solution was found.
During those 12 days of hell, i vowed to myself to punish CC for being bad... much the way a parent will punish a child by grounding them, or putting them on restriction, a 'timeout' if you will... they don't want to do it, but sometimes it is clearly the right thing to do.
So if you've ever heard the saying "This is gonna hurt me more than it's gonna hurt you" then you will understand how hard this has really been for me... Yes, that's right, I have deprived myself joining any games, games that I love so much, all in the name of doing the right thing... and yes, it hurt me more than CC, which wouldn't have noticed at all if not for the silver freemie color change of my swords.
You see, CC had unknowlingly made a mistake (which is completely forgivable), but the real problem was that when the CC community make it crystal clear that this was a bad thing, they decided to continue the mistake for another 9 days after they were fully aware of things. This was totally unacceptable.
So initially, CC's 'punishment' was to last 9 months, one month for each day of defiant behaviour. But recently, I learned that there was more to the story... so i had decided to reduce the 'punishment' to just 2 months... which is today.
For me, the additional info does not excuse thier actions, but it does help to see that there was more concern for the people of CC than was originally apparent. So what is this new info, you ask... well, apparently "changing the map back would have risked crashing the server, AND ALSO, there was a risk that people would not actually continue to comment". Hmmm...
Has CC learned that they should have handled that better? ...
perhaps...
perhaps not...
but the punishment is over,
and I am now able to return to the battlefield, with joy and eagerness I might add.

I bet you'll love it.
+ it's been many days.

Yeah, most people missed the first time we changed classic, had an outcry, changed it back instantly to go back into the foundry for more comments, crashed the server and then proceeded to not get many comments on the map - and those that we did get, after having listened to the community, brought us the Classic! map which caused so much uproar.
But, that water being under the bridge, good to have you back indeed! Care for a game?
