The 8 man,who is the best...

Postby DAT_WAT_SHE_SAID on Wed Sep 17, 2008 5:49 am

The 8 man, classic, 8 players, no fog escalating freestyle(a.k.a complete choas) most have played them
now i have thought about this soooo much and I want the people of CC to let me know they're honest opinions of who has the best gamestyle...

In my personal opinion, I think the five best players that stand out for me are:
Scott-Land
Poo-maker
Fantasianasian
Rashidjelzin
Fabledintegral

Now i want to know what the people of CC think and who is the best players of this setting

Your list has the right people, wrong order though :P
Poo-maker
RashidJelzin
Scott-Land
Fantasianasian
FailedInteger

(Dwarfs are the best)

If you were doing a top 10, you'd need to add Skillerman, Prankcall, and Buiz.

We're only talking about speed 8 man, I think. Thai Robrt is good at esc freestyle 8 man, but he plays casual.

oh, I havnt had the pleasure of playing many games with poo, he just didnt seem nething out of the ordanary when i played him. But looking back on the win rate, he won 2/3 of the 8 man games i was in. So i guess that settles it

Casual Freestyle is by no means the same as Speed freestyle.I play both games and casual is all about taking your turn at the right moment.FYI this game (2229199) was the ultimate casual freestyle game.Note I won :) not sure how many points where in that game but i know its 2nd on Blitz top 5 most points in a single game. Me winning that game don't make me best at Casual far from. However if you took time to review the log you'd notice i was on at the right time to catch War trying to sweep the map and i ended up getting the steal which lead to my eventual win.So its all about timing in casual.I won 156 points in that game and I was at that time around 3700 we were all above 3500 when joining

Fanta and Buiz recently impressed me. I thought neither of them to be special until recently... Fanta really picked up his game... he used to be one of the players that never made a move but sat around to watch other people's moves and try to captilize if they made a mistake... however recently (in the past 10 games or so he's been with me, which he's def played a lot w/o me as well) he's been making his own plays. In fact - he's fucked me over in around 3 of my most recent games where I thought I was going to win and he made smart plays. Fanta is my prediction for the next to hit 4k.

Here is what I think...

Top 5 Pre CM

Poo-Maker
Prankcall
Scott-land
Buizerd
Friendly1

Top 5 Post CM

Scott-land
Poo-Maker
RashidJelzin
Fantasianasian
FableIntergral

Yes I know you are wondering fly, but he played many a steal and took many a games. Pre CM buiz was good as well. He would then retire and make a comeback.

If we are talking about currently playing then

Buizerd
Fantasianasian
FableIntergral
Scott-land
Prankcall

If you do not count Scott as playing anymore than sub in RashidJelzin

Skillerman is an idiot that simply takes abuse of shitty players being slow rather than making smart plays. He'll continually go for people with 5 cards even when they have a set because he knows he can kill them before they will refresh; a lot of us could do the same but don't.

He also never flushes out whoever he thinks has two pair - even when said "skiller either deploy 1 army or cash first and then I'll cash immediately after you if you're trying to kill me" and then we wait 3 minutes... and then the idiot cashes, I cash 3 seconds after him, and he starts autoing me. Then he goes with "whatever - I stopped when I saw you cash" despite the fact he wipes me out of Europe/Africa + wastes both of our armies.

That is about right on skiller. He tries to use that Speed to run over people. It only works vs certain people.
