You use the word independent, and clan but it seems to me that the definition is opposite of the way you are using the words.

INDEPENDENT 1 : not dependent: as a (1) : not subject to control by others, (2) : not affiliated with a larger controlling unit.

If you can't belong to other groups then you are being controled.

Clan: a group united by a common interest or common characteristics.

XI does have a common interest, which is gaming.

Does xi games allow unspoken alliances? Let's say on the classic map there are three players left, and one player owns South America, and another owns North America, and the third player owns the rest of the world. Would it be acceptable under your group regulations if the 2 weaker players moved all of their armies off the central america/venezuela border? Obviously if they're both good players, they know they won't attack each other with the third person being so powerful.

Well that wouldn't be an alliance. Just each person independently doing what they feel is their best chance to win. So I can't imagine there would be any problem with that as long as it was never discussed as you said.

Reverend_Kyle you said "when elite core finaly admitted that they were through they disbanded and went to XI to answer your question."

The elite group that you refer to is called The Risk Circle, and it still exists. The XI is an offshoot of The Risk Circle and so is the Risk II Players Lounge. I was a member of The Risk Circle and am currently a member of the Risk II Players Lounge.

You shouldn't say anything at all because that would mean you have an alliance which isn't allowed. You can't say to the other person, lets both attack highborn because he's too strong. However if you each feel that's what you need to do and you decide to do it independently (you never talked to each other about it) then there is no alliance.

Actually, The Elite Core are completely independant to the Risk Circle. The Elite Core were a clan formed here on CC, for play here on CC. The Risk Circle originated in Risk 2, and never made the move to CC as far as I'm aware. Meanwhile Xigames, is an offshoot of the Risk Circle, which in turn soaked up most of the elite core when they disbanded.

No worries, glad to be of assistance. See CC, six months old, and already steeped in history.

xiGAMES

Postby Scarus on Sat Jul 29, 2006 2:17 am

I think Cahoots summed it up pretty well. I think the main difference between xiGAMES and most clans is that people in clans generally try to represent their clans in whatever games they can get into, while xiGAMES generally tries to create it's own enviornment, hosts it own games, and tourneys, and offers players of known integrity an opportunity to associate together. xiGAMES has been in existance for over three years.

Members of clans who compete in Risk based games are not eligible for membership in xiGAMES because early on it was found that the introduction of clans into our controlled environment generally led to problems. This is the whole douchebaggery concept which has been so eloquently put forth here at C Club. Johhny gets miffed, so Mary sticks up for Johhny, and then everyone in their clan starts flamming and teaming against whatever clan they are peeved at.

What hasn't been discussed too much in this thread is that clan members are generally welcome as "guests" in the xiGAMES forum. They don't have access to the xiGAMES vault of member private passwords, but we respect their choice to belong to a clan, they are valued members of our community, and are treated as equals.

xiGAMES members primarily play RiskII, C Club, and Age of Empires II. We have also recently entered into a partnership with many players from C Club to form the CCx tribe at the Tribal Wars site.

If you would like to check out the xiGAMES Forum, as our guest, just follow the link in my signature.
