a new rating category?

To me the problem lies in the fact that they took out the biggest strength the old system had. The ability for one to write their own opinion and for the recipient to write a response if they so choose.

I want to know what the problem is before i decide to play. If 10 people write a neg that a plyer was an anti social tool I wouldnt join. Now i have to rely on an average...that means different things to different people.

I agree, and started a thread with some alternatives and a poll.

But, as for the skill issue. You already HAVE a skill assessment ... your rank.

When individuals judge skill, they are judging their own personal idea of skill. You know what, most of those so very concerned about skill are NOT the best players themselves.

Amongst other things, i said exactly that a few posts back .. (and indeed about a month ago in the first thread)

not having a skill/tactic rating for a game on a tactics based gaming site, is like going to a restaurant and rating it on:
Service 8/10, Ambience 8/10, Value 7/10, Toilets 8/10

and not having a rating for the bloody : Food (2 out of 5)

i want the option to commend a player on their skill, for many reasons and have been arguing it for what seems a long time.
i became resigned to the fact that the rating needs to be about specific behaviours in order to incorporate the bad 'behaviour block' facility about to be installed.

i have moved to trying to get a community moderated comment system (running with the rating) which would include the ability to comment on skill.
