I'm not really complaining on behalf of myself, since so far I have no problems with the system other than the potential for it to be abused, but I know others have problems such as these and I just wanted to address the other side of the argument. (I understand it has been noted about 100x since the rating system started, so here is just one more topic for people to whine in)
Actually I quite disagree. To begin with, negative (that is true negarive) feedback should be clearly distinguised from unfair feedback which is obviously false.
While negative feedback gives the player a negative view to other players (IE: player "X" shouldn't play player "y" because he/she/it has a rating of 2.1), unfair feedback does quite the opposite.
Take my worthy opponent, AAfitz, for example. (yes fitz, I'm putting you in the spotlight.) Whether one likes him or not, it must be admitted that this is an outstanding player and a good addition to CC, worthy of supreme high Jedi, and modship. (This is not necessarily because he plays well, although he does play exceedingly well, and someday, I will win him

,
but enough of me.) This dedicated player, whom by the way never misses his turns, is the way he is because he is honest, dedicated, showing good sportsmanship, and I might even say for being a good mentor. And yet, even after all this, low and behold, he gets a terribly unfair feedback. He is falsely accused of being a Coward, giving Secret Diplomacy, and using Cheap Tactics. (I tell you after playing with him, it's clearly obvious he does
not use cheap tactics.) This false rating only makes the rater appear awkward and foolish (whom by the way he gives this to several other players), but it also glorifies the people he leaves the ratings for. AAfitz should be proud because this particular rating gives others a better characteristic of himself. He appears real unlike those with 5.0 ratings (even so far as to say myself, and that's hard to say). I am not in anyway giving negativity to the player who left that feedback; but rather, I merely point out the reaction such an unfair feedback can bring.
The best thing to do is play your best because because in the end, it will be you who are judged and not necessarily your feedback, either with the new rating system, or the old one. Also, encourage new members to be honest and give their honest opinion, for most people in CC just want to have fun. Those who give unfair feedback in the end will eventually be banned or simply no one will play with them and they will eventually fade away like a nightmare in the face of daylight.
