Medals are LAME!

What does it tell you about a persons play anyway except that they have played a lot of games.

I miss being able to see what people actual FEELINGS are. Not some lame number and medal that requires no thought.

true i've seen people with 7-8 medals for tourney organizing. and i'm pretty certain there are some with ~20 or more for tourneys.
also when the map making badges will be awarded the map makers will climb the top.

PS: cairnswk has 13 maps, that's 13 medals plus a few more on the way. plus what other medals he already has and if he starts making tourneys he could get to 30+ easily.

tourneys are much easier to get medals. 10 tournaments vs 10 maps. It's not even close.

Tell that to the 6-9 months I've spent running tournaments on many, many occasions, edbeard. They are equal in workload and commitment. I've seen some maps go from idea to quenched in less time than it takes the average tournament. ;)

Once the map Medals come out (soon), they'll be the coolest...and rarest. :D Remember, Tournaments DEPEND on maps. ;)

(Nothing like a little good rivalry...hehe...Hey, how about a tournament...Foundry Folks vs Tourny Folks...Tournament creates the Tournament, Foundry creates the Map. :D Genius, someone run with it.)

with all due respect you're way off base here.

It might take longer but the amount of work isn't even close.

From research, to draft after draft after draft, and XML.

If you compare that to a tournament where you have to design it and get players then just upkeep it as it goes, it's not even close.

Even if a tournament takes a long time it's not like you're doing tons of work for it. Everyone else is playing the games. All you have to do is make the games, send out PMs (much MUCH easier now with mass pms), and upkeep (yes upkeep is more than just word. you make sure people join their games and send out reminders. if you're organized, tournament points and who goes on is quite easy. overall it's just tedious but the tools of the site help greatly).

With a map you have to implement changes, defend those changes, explain why comments from other people don't work or won't be implemented. after all of that, the XML can be quite difficult too.
