Are you suggesting that all games be un-ranked, and that no one should have a score at all, or do you think there should be a different system?
Yes, the scoring system makes no sense. I don't see any ranking/scoring system which is possible, and the current one exists as a marketing ploy or sop to a few vocal idiots who get a charge out of bragging that they somehow have achieved something of significance by gaming a rigged system.
Win/Loss is the only possible accurate system of rank/scoring or whatever you want to call it. And of course, Win/Loss only goes so far to indicate any relative skill. If one plays only those who do not know how to play, then the Win/Loss will be skewed.
If one is a competent player playing only other competent player, everyone will get around 50% Win/Loss.
My own current score probably has me in the top 10% or so. I rarely play any who outrank me. If I were to play ANYONE who outranks me in 1 v 1 games, each of my opponents would score around 50% Win/Loss against me (I guess probably a few of the top ranked players are absolutely clueless as to how to play legitimately, so a few I would slaughter, as would any corporal.
If you consider only those who cheat to increase their score, you know that the other arguments against this system are superflous. One cheat screws up the system, Conquer Club has at least 100's of cheats, if not thousands. They cannot say. Anyone who has played has run into the problem, or knows people who have.
Out of millions of games, I'd say that indicates that the number of cheats probably is at least several hundred (this would be true because of multis alone).
