Preferred Tournament Style

I am finding quickly that I am a great lover of tournaments on this site, and I am a great lover of running and directing them.
I have heard from several players that the formats I've used in a couple were nice and with that in mind I am interested in knowing what a larger consensus is for how to style the tournaments.
Feel free to elaborate on what you have found that works, or doesn't work, best number of players for a tournament depending on the style, etc.
I feel that in the future I'll be doing more directing of tournaments than game play, so I wanted to get a feel for the mood of it all.

I like the round robin style b/c you play everyone and it truly shows which team is better than the other. I would rather play double round-robin though, beccuase if two teams are evenly matched, then one game shouldn't really decide between them.
Also, i don't understand the "brackets that feed into a separate league" choice.

Greece,
Brackets that feed into a separate league can be explained something like this (4 teams used for example purposes only):
Bracket A has 4 Teams
The Best
The Good
The Bad
The Ugly
Bracket B has 4 Teams
The Winner
The Runner Up
The Also Ran
The Loser
Bracket C has 4 Teams
The Terminator
The Assassin
The Target
The Dead
Bracket D has 4 Teams
Eenie
Meenie
Meinie
Moe
At the End of the Initial Season the Bracket Leaders (The Best, The Winner, The Terminator, and Eenie) move into a Champions League.
It's possible that The Loser, The Dead, The Ugly, and Moe get demoted to a Qualifier League (win that and you're eligible to try and win your way into the Champions League).
So, the end goal is to win the Champions League (which can't be formed until Tournament #2).

Yeah, that's the basic idea behind it. I'm currently running a tournament that has brackets feeding into a league format. The winners of each bracket make it into the league and then those league players have a "regular season" of sorts. At the end of the league play, the bottom few players get dropped and new brackets are formed to find new players for the second season.
Thanks for the feedback you two, it appears that people are voting, but not providing much actual feedback. I appreciate it.

Now if only people had these as names!
