lol good call, and yes, unfortunately it happens all too frequently. I was in a four player game the other day and won because the other three all deadbeated.

The reason we have a deadbeat problem is a simple equation: Lax rules=more members=more membership dues=more money in Lack's pocket. Or, to simplify it, Lack's rules=lax rules (except on the forums). Cheers.

Not really... :? Wouldn't more members staying mean more memberships, which equals more money for the site?

The reason we have a deadbeat problem is because a lot of people sign up under the belief that they'll get to play a game right away, and then leave when they find out they have to wait 24 hours per turn, or they just get frustrated that nobody is playing. We have several things in the works right now to minimize these, and that should decrease the deadbeat rate quite a bit. :)

Or they take 1 turn because they got an e-mail, expect another, never get one, and never come back. I'm pretty sure that's what happened to me in game 600000

When someone deadbeats in a game i'm in i give nf. From time to time i check back over these nfs to see if there are responses - if someone seems to have a good excuse i remove them. In checking back on them i have found that (contrary to what the mods would have us believe) less than half of them are non-returning n00bs. Nice try AK.
