Freestyle question

In a freestyle game can two players take their turns simultaneously? Like if I'm trying to take out a player who has a lot of cards would they be able to cash in their cards and strengthen their position as I attack?

Yes. Kill them quick.
Taking an enemy on the battlefield is like a hawk taking a bird. Though it enters into the midst of a thousand of them, it pays no attention to any bird other than the one it has first marked.

it also can throw a massive spanner in the works if both the last 2 people are on line battling for survival / domination on the last throw of the dice

I won a british isles game by starting my turn before my opponent could take care of my bonus every turn.
