I seem to see this as your reasons for rejecting lots of things... Is it because you're lazy that it's too hard to program, or is it because it will lag down the system and/or create bugs in game that it's too hard to program?

Well, since this site is currently a full-time job for him, you would think that even if it was hard to do, he would have enough free time to figure it out...

With the amount of work that is currently put into the site, im pritty sure if he doesnt do something becasue its to hard to program its because his time is better invested in other, more programable (is that even a word?) updates.

I remember playing in a game with lackattack recently and he mentioned that his dream would be to spend more time programming each day. However, he said that he spends a lot of time dealing with the flood of PMs and e-tickets and such.
I think if the players were to understand that some issues would be either more easily resolved, or more quickly resolved by finding the proper answers from experienced players, or by locating the appropriate moderator for their concern that lack would have time to get more done.
That's just my opinion however.

How about lack implement a filter on his inbox - Only certain people are allowed, everyone else gets a "Sorry, please PM another mod"

That would be an interesting idea. I actually have no idea how many he gets or if he already just forwards them along to the proper moderators. I think that Twill is trying to help out with expanding the staff, that way there are more folks to go around to help with the more general and forum specific questions that pop up.

Now this I know from the beginning of 2006 the reason is he has to prioritize the list of things to do, unfortunately many good ideas would take too long to program, after all lack is only a superhuman turtle and they can only do so much in a week. As general happenings slow down this process he has to decide at that time what he should program and what, for now, is unimportant. Eventually, I expect, he will get a staff team and then he will be able to program the longer programming projects

For those of you saying that it's because he has to prioritize, ect. ect., then why doesn't he just say "To do, but low priority."?

becasue maybe its so low prioriy that its not worth putting on his to-do list? There no point doign something with high labour if the end result wont be work the work.

The interesting thing to me is that in 2 years half of the suggestions that were made in the last 2 months will be made again. Of course 2 years from now there will have been many, many more updates, a forum upgrade, tournament and clan systems, etc.....which would mean that there might be a good possibility that some of these things that get "rejected" might actually be implemented, you are just going to have to be loyal and find out.

I have no problem with it being low priority, it's just that if it IS only low priority, it would be nice for him to say that, rather than just "Too hard to code." which just makes him look lazy.

The issue is Lack has always made himself accessible via PM and people take advantage of that because they want to go straight to "the man," when in reality the mods could and should be handling about 95% of that. Hopefully people will realize they should be going to either Twill or etickets with all their issues now and what needs to be escalated to Lack's attention will be. That will free up Lack's time to do what he does best, program updates. And the issue would be resolved quicker that way also. We should all attempt to keep Lack's inbox empty.

Yep, you explained it much better than I did.

I PM'd Lack to tell him that I support this new initiative of sending PM's to the appropriate delegated-authority and will be happy to do anything to help.

I pm'd Lack a beautiful poem.
All Because of You
Author: Alyssa
Dark days become sunny
Frigid days become warm,
Rainy days become cloudless
And lightning got wiped away from the storm.
Oceans sing,
Rocks cry out,
Mountains roar,
And tree branches shout.
The stars fall
Right out of the sky.
The moon winks
And the sun went dry.
All because you said one thing
All because you said it true
All because you made me smile
All because you said I love you.

And to further clarify.... here are the steps to take if you have an issue that needs attention.
If you have an issue with the forums, do the following, in order...
1. Read
Guidelines and
searchforum, since the issue may have already been reported or answered.
2. Check
FAQ
3. PM the specific moderator of that forum (listed at top of each one)
4. PM Twill
If you have an issue with the site, whether it's game-related (e.g. Feedback), account-related (e.g. Multi appeals) or you need technical assistance (e.g. game bug), do the following, in order...
1. Check
FAQ
2. Fill out an
eticket
If you have an issue with Live Chat, do the following, in order...
1. Check
FAQ
2. PM a Live Chat Moderator (Clapper011, bedub1, wicked, Twill)
We have people assigned to cover all these tasks and answer all your questions (and none of them are Lack!). By going through the right channels, your issue will be resolved more quickly. If you PM Lack, it only gets buried in his inbox until he can forward it to one of us. So cut out the middle man and go right to who can help you quickly.
