Bonus Cards

In real life RISK, I understand that you can only hold up to five cards in your hand before you have to cash in. Basically, you can not hord them. Is this the same here?

Yep.

When you reach 5 cards you have to turn them in. If as a result of eliminating someone you have more than 5 cards you can turn them in mid-turn.

An interesting caveat here: if you have more than 5 mid-turn, and two sets, you are allowed to cash both. For example, say you have two reds and two greens, and you kill someone with two blues. You can cash both sets, even though cashing one brings you back below 5.

yup. If you are forced to cash in mid turn you can cash in as many sets as you have in your hand.

Bt if you elimenate someone and have 4 or less cards your not allowed a mid turn cash in.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

Ok, thanks for the info. So, when you eliminate someone, you get their cards?

yes and there is a way to hold them without playing and that is to let your turn run out before you play them lol (this was tested by some people, cant remember who, but i think one guy had 9 cards or something and allowed his turn to end by running outta time and he still had them but had to turn in until he had less than 5 on his next turn)

i think there was also a test game where they manged to work it out so that one person ended up with 27 cards once.

Nice. I hope somebody remembers the game number, that would be a sight to see.

Takes a bit of the fun away - it means that the strategy of the other players is pretty much thrown in their face. I am not as keen on the escalating bonus card games - they always turn into a white wash.

Yep, that is pretty much the goal of esc games. Wait until you can knock out one person so you can cash mid-turn, move on to the next and keep on going till you've won or realize the dice hated you more than usual and you might loose if they got a set.

wouldnt the most possible cards you can get be 9? if you have 4 cards and kill someone with 5 then you get that number, but if you want more cards, you have to kill stuff, which means you have to play your cards in order to play your turn and get more cards

The most possible cards you could get would be as follows:

Person 1 took their turn and has 5 cards
Person 2 took their turn and has 4 cards
Person 3 took their turn and has 4 cards
Person 4 took their turn and has 4 cards
Person 5 took their turn and has 4 cards

Person 6 is starts their turn and has 4 cards. Person 6 eliminates person 1, but does not cash-in, nor do they do anything else [time out]. Person 6 is now sitting there with 9 cards

Person 2 starts their turn with 4 cards. Person 2 eliminates person 6, but does not cash-in, nor do they do anything else [time out]. Person 2 is now sitting there with 13 cards

Person 3 starts their turn with 4 cards. Person 3 eliminates person 2, but does not cash-in, nor do they do anything else [time out]. Person 3 is now sitting there with 17 cards

Person 4 starts their turn with 4 cards. Person 4 eliminates person 3, but does not cash-in, nor do they do anything else [time out]. Person 4 is now sitting there with 21 cards

Person 5 starts their turn with 4 cards. Person 5 eliminates person 4. Person 5 is now sitting there with 25 cards. The game is now over.
