Need to Vent

Here I am, dominating a game - just eliminated a player with 4 cards, using the cards to kill another play with three, to extend my domination, etc. I lose thirteen troops to kill four - and decide to hold off to next turn.
Next time, I use other bonuses, and my last set, and when I've got the person down to a couple of countries, I lose 13 vs 2! At this point I'm slinking away in shame - my entire plan for world domination ruined.
Worse part - the third player kills the person for his cards next turn, with less armies than I had and he has absolutely no problems killing these two!
I realize dice randomness - but I need to vent....
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!

don't worry it happens from time to time. i lost 14v1 i lost 153vs76 (and the guy with 76 still had 48 left). i've seen people kill 20 troops with just 7 and stuff like that.
all you can do is hope the next game the opponent will have your bad luck

Well, I've got good news and bad news.
The bad news is that the bad dice are by no means finished with you. In fact, you will undoubtedly suffer an even greater indignity at the hands of probability at some point in the future.
The good news is that the dice do get better. The further good news is that you clearly know what you're doing, so you're already ahead of the curve.
Don't let the bad dice grind you down. Remember an old victory, or talk shit in the flame forum, or go do something else for a few hours. Bad dice can be toxic to the soul, and it's good to try and maintain a sense of perspective. The good dice will come.
Oh, and I'd recommend sacrificing a goat to Zeus and refraining from sexual activity for the 72 hours preceding a complicated escalating killshot. Prayer beads wouldn't hurt either.

Dim, you lost 14 vs 1? That's worse than my all-time worst, but just barely - 14 vs 2.
I've started my first new game after a full 1.5 day retreat from CC. Now, I must dominate my next game to make up for it.
Revenge ! (albiet against diff players)

Herakilla! It's not another dice thread
It's a well-written tale of anguish and despair that adequately expressed the horror of that game....
Fine - it's a dice thread, but a well-written one

Sacrificing goats will accomplish nothing, Incandenza, it has to be a 17 year old virgin at new moon.

True ,but throwing in a goat or 2 can't hurt.

i find that offending a llama can also help ... it's not so much 'the mule of the Andes' which is the key to this method, it's the double 'L' which seems to work!
So i also try to irritate Lloyds banks customer services operatives .. and i have terrific dice when i visit Wales.
I hope that this has helped!

True, adding a goat or two won't hurt and might help, but just the goats will not do anything, I haven't tried sacrificing a llama yet, I'll tell you about the results if I can get one from some local zoo.

I'm rather worried about the complex ritual sacrifices I've seemed to inspire

i like this post....
essentially:[im annoyed that I lost, but blame no one... Im just annoyed]
like incan said... you get used to it.... and when you hold off a massive force with your 2 and win, you will enjoy it immensely
I will say this, ive thrown over 200000 of these crazy little cubes, but for the most part they are predictably unpredictable... you just cant expect your 90% chance of winning to win more than 90% and youll be fine

i expect to win more than 100% of the time
