Are you losing most of your games?

Postby Pedronicus on Fri Jul 21, 2006 3:40 pm

The reason is probably this:

1. you don't have Grease Monkey

2. you play too many maps

3. you play too many game styles

4. you attack more than one territory in your early goes

the answer?

get the grease, play one map and get good at it, learn one style of card game and play tighter.

Where is the yes and no option? Grease Monkey seems nice, but if you pay attention, you have all the info it gives you in the game history. Everything else seems spot on.

I will admit teh Monk3y is a great tool for beginners.

All the info is there - that is what the script runs off of - but I have trouble keeping track of how many cards everyone has at round 21 when two players were eliminated (and had their cards eaten) 8 rounds ago. Can't get enough of the Greasemonkey.

As to why you're losing most of your games - if you join seven six-player games, I hope you win fewer than four of them, or I am very afraid of you.

I don't use greasemonkey... but I would if I could be bothered to download it all.

The biggest rule in CC is that if you are playing escalating card games with the value at a high level and can choose to either kill a player with 3 or more cards or take a continent, kill the player.

I won 5 of my first 6 games, all 6 player. Put me into the top 100 in the first few days of joining. The I had an equal streak of losses.

Now I'm right around 50% wins so I voted winning most.

though i don't think grease-monkey is wrong there is a distinct disadvantage to people who don't hav it. for example; i hav to count back using the logs to work out how many cards people hav. this doesn't effect whether you win or lose but does make playing more time consuming

You're attacking and defending the wrong territories.

Maybe so, but by holding certain territories weakly you invite attack, and by holding certain territories strongly you invite attack.

K, if you say so, but then why did you ask what's wrong with your play?

Max - I took a look at your games;

1.grease monkey - good

2.
2. you play too many maps only 4 at a time

4 at a time is irrelevent - what i mean is your playing classic, asia, CCU, space, middle earth, etc. play one type of map

3. Do or Die isn't a game option - you again play flat rate, no cards, esc. unlimited forts. chained forts. everything thats out there Play 1 type of card / fortification

4. you attack 1 territory in your early goes - good.

Sort out points 2 & 3, and your win rate will improve

hmm...

1. Grease Monkey - Yes

2. you play too many maps - Yes

3. you play too many game styles - No not really

4. you attack more than one territory in your early goes - No

I guess i just need to improve 2, not sure which map to pick though
