just wondering... in order to be considered as having the east indies, do you have to have taken hawaii as well? how about indochina and tailand? i'm havign a hard part telling because they're faded and are written on. or have those troop circles over them

No to all. The small bonuses all have dark, thicker borders.

But you do need Hawaii if you wish to have the Oceania bonus.
