Now I can say I was a sergeant not just corp. 1st class :-D I dunno why he changed it... now more and more lucky noobs/newbs can get a nice rank from several doodle assassin games...

i think the new scoring is stupid, it cheapens the ranks, i was trying to work up to becoming a major, now it just gets handed to me. personally i think they should go back to the way it was.

you know, i kind of agreed... but then i read a post where someone said they should go back to the "original-original" rank system, which i never played under. so, i think we are all biased towards where the rank was when we started. i hate that i was fighting to regain my diamond dude status, and then it was just handed to me, but it is what it is... i'm sure there was a lot of discussion and debate before lack decided to do this, so i just have to trust him. he kind of knows what he is doing, and i generally agree with him (even if it takes me awhile to come around... that entails thugs knocking on my door with their CC sashes over their black suits..)...-0

Well I used to be a major before the ranking system originally changed and I was pissed when I lost it and became sergeant first class. Now I've been upped a rank to a captain and I'm pissed because I was close to getting it for the first time and have got it now. However, I guess you'll get used to it, its always this way with change. Within a month everyone will forget the old ranks like the old old ranks were forgotten.

Uh, reality check here, its just a symbol, your points haven't gone up or down, your place in the rankings (if you care) haven't changed and as long as the symbols don't resemble piles of doggie doo-doo its all the same.
And please keep it a secret but we aren't really officers and sargeants, its only an on-line gaming site.

well, not really... it isn't all the same... the milestones have changed... and sure, it is an online game, but some players still set personal goals, and now those goals have changed or been devalued. i for one was proud to reach diamond dude status. then, i lost it... i was very close to regaining it, and overnight, it was given to me. -0

The milestones haven't changed, you wanted to get to 1800 points before and I would assume you would still like to get there. The symbol itself is only . . wait for it . . . a symbol. It could be a picture of a dog or a tank or a happy face.

Ooooooooh now I get the logic here. You wanted to get to 2000 points so you could get a real 'diamond' but now that you have the 'diamond' you are not sure if theres any point to get to 2000 points because you have the 'diamond' and theres no need to get to 2000 points because all your dreams have been fulfilled.
Whhhhhhhhhew, for a second there I thought this was a pointless thread.

I think more ranks in between the originals would be great, as long as the original ranks would keep the same score so we could shut owen up about getting to diamond dude without working for it...

say what you want... the rank values have been deflated, and that changes the milestones, period.-0

p.s.-don't start a thread if you don't want different opinions than the one you have...
p.p.s.-others feel the same: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=47425&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

says the guy that was just handed a HUGE rank upgrade without getting anywhere NEAR the previous requirements... again, others feel the same:

Owen I was a major when I only had 1600 points once.

Rank values will readjust themselves. No harm done. But I do think there should be another rank at 4k. 3.5k to 4.5k is an immense jump.

yeah, i said in another thread that it'll just take some getting used to, and that everyone probably is used to whatever system it was that they joined under. alot of guys still think we should use the original system, and i don't even know what that was!!! anyway, not whining, not THAT upset. i'm not even upset at all, really. i was just really psyched to work my way back to diamond dude, and then it was just there again... sigh...-0

I just started it to say that I was a sergeant, mostly a rivalry to all my friends/family that haven't made it to corp. 1st class.... but I don't really care about the symbols just the score...
