Which kind of maps do you prefer?

i would have posted in the Foundry Discussion however more people post in here, and the majority of people go in this forum and the foundry "how to use this sub-forum correctly" said something about not posting:

the map i play the most is AoR:Magic but most of the games i play are on maps of real places so i voted for that.

yeah i like real places, i really want to like the AoR series, but i just dont have the time to look at them/play them to understand them,
once i get premium i bet i'll be converted!

Classic map is for me. I reverted back to playing classic escalating and I've won 3/4 games so far and shot my pts back up (if you've noticed.)

I don't really play anything but it, most other maps wind me up (Waterloo & AO series) cause they're too big, too bad graphics. Doodle Earth WAS fun but now I don't dare risk it cause there's so much luck involved.

now classic's screwed as well but it's getting better.

i think the poll is very wrong for the simple fact you can't split maps in those 3 categs (real places, fictional, abstract).

for example why do people like classic?? just because it represents the world?? surely not. they like it because of the classic gameplay. remove the bonuses add a resource type gameplay and you'll see many people will hate it despite being a real place.

or let's take a look at waterloo. it is a real place and yet so many hate it. why? well because of the hard to understand gameplay.

I agree with DiM. Also, your categorizing is flawed in other ways: is King of the Mountains abstract, or a fictional place?

I used to play the classic map... but since it's been 'improved', i am avoiding it

whining in all sorts of threads isn't helping. if you want something changed go to the classic thread in the foundry

for some reason people are 'scared' of the map foundry and loads of people dont even know it exsists!

Is doodle earth fiction or real? On one hand it is completely distorted with mixed names. But on the other hand, it is based on the world map. Hmm... with this conundrum be solved?

my favorite is world 2.1 because the games last longer so you can build up more interesting battles. some of the other maps are too small in my opinion. i also don't like playing maps with weird bonuses (merchants, etc.) because it is too hard to keep track of what gives you a bonus and what doesn't.
