I am willing to wager my membership in favour of a vote.

Leave Classic as it is now.
Or
Revert to the Original.

I am willing to wager my membership that the original will have at least a 70/30 win.

the original map received 7% of the vote... yeah, you might as well give up your membership now... you all wanted a vote, you all got a vote, you all lost the vote, you are all finding it so hard to believe that the TRUE MAJORITY wanted a change and likes the change. it's over. stop spamming the forum...-0

Word. Has dangerous die gotten booted from the site yet? This whole drama has proven one thing and that is, contrary to your insistence, the only thing you were pissed about was change. You had no attachment to the old map beyond that or it wouldn't have finished so far behind in the vote.

I'm damned glad that they didn't tell everyone which was which so it actually had to stand on it's merits rather than the irrational love everyone one had for "tradition".

Can you all shut up now or are we going to have to tolerate your inane gripes forever?

I understand how people can prefer things remain the same. However, if they can't even prove what "the same" is out of a line-up then that sort of deals a crushing blow to their argument.

I work with wine, among other things. That industry is under going a similar hang up as the world starts to run out of cork trees and winemakers tire of the amount of wine that is spoiled by tainted cork. Cork is, after all, old technology and is merely the best people could find to seal a bottle hundreds of years ago. It's been all but completely proven that cork is not essential to allowing wine to age and yet people still resist other closures. They hold onto the sliver of doubt that wine may age better with corks in the face of the fact that 1 in 20 bottles of wine is proven to be at least partially spoiled by it. Why? because of tradition. Of course, these same people have embraced touch tone or even cell phones and other advancements.

If by 'my membership' you mean 'my ability to ever log into CC again, or to post on its forums in any shape or form', then I am well up for that.

I really am happy and done with this argument but it seems odd that anyone claims 'victory' when:

The majority wanted none of the options
The map you back was 4th favourite out of 9
And the 'original' map was 5th

I think it is safe to say that it was good that the majority had a chance to vote, as the 'changed' map was not popular.

yeas people went over the top but because the changed map was so difficult to look at! Once tempers had calmed, the problem really was more about the shock of a bad change not necessarily slavery to its the exact ancestor.
Of course people harked back to what they had before.. you seem to be ignoring the fact that none of the choices actually was what we had before.. this has been brushed away!

I drink wine and i don't give a crap about your problems with corks ;) the fact that you can extract copious amounts of money out of us for a particular bottle of wine, is specifically about tradition and the perception of quality from a particular region or grape. That's where the snobbery value of wine is gold!

The pomposity of tradition creates value. Wine like art is often good because we are told it is good and then we acquire a taste for it based upon information from connoisseurs and specialists!

Don't get me wrong i know the difference between a good and bad wine and like what i like, as more and more people do.
But the ceremony of popping a cork in a restaurant by a sommelier adds 20% alone to what a patron will spend .. not quite the same as the ceremonial unscrewing of the chardonnay or sniffing of the plastic plug!

Anyway resistance to synthetic 'corks' is very short-term. this is mainly due to the fact that it does not ruin the experience of drinking the wine.
the same can not be said about the changed map for me and i think you will agree many other player.

so anyway let's all just get on! and stop claiming some sort of victory .. i don't think it is the point, getting a bad change fixed was.

If you guys are so sure of yourselves, what's the big deal with a leave it as it is and back to the original?

A vote for everyone.

I did not vote on the pieces of shit in the foundry.

I did not want any of those.
Like Jim says, ALOT of people did not vote because there wasn't a viable option.

Run a vote.

Leave it as it is,
Back to original.

The only reason you won't is because you know the original would win, then your couple forum butt buddy groupies wouldn't be so happy.

Like Jim says, ALOT of people did not vote because there wasn't a viable option.

there was a vote on the HOME PAGE of CC when you logged in... there was another link on your GAMES PAGE... so, if you couldn't be bothered to look and vote, why should we have 2 maps of the same game? the MAJORITY wanted a change... the alleged "silent majority" spammed up the forum, demanding a vote. guess what? you got it. guess what, THERE WAS A VIABLE OPTION for you, it was the ORIGINAL MAP, and it received 7% of the vote!! you didn't vote, so you are part of your own perceived problem! shocker!! a person that is complaining that didn't vote!!! your mentor would be disgusted with you (i'll be sure to mention this to him next time i see him at his super secret no stalkers allowed coffee shop). and now, you continue to spam up the forum and threaten to leave the site. bye! we will miss all 7% of you!!! you complained, they heard your pleas for a revote, we all cast a vote (those of us that truly care about the classic map), and the winning white map received more votes than all the other black versions combined. again, your BELOVED ORIGINAL MAP was an option, it received 7% of the vote. this is over. go play online scrabble, that board will never change...-0

p.s.-i find it more than ironic that nobody was able to tell which was the original map when it had to stand on it's own in a vote. i bet i could recognize my favorite map in the same situation! people compared this to coke vs. new coke... no, new coke sucked and everyone could tell the difference... this new map is far better, and the people that want the old one back don't even remember what it looks like!!!

No.

It was not the original map. That's why it didn't say Original classic.
Are you really that stupid?
Things were changed even though you wanna call it black 60. Aspects are still changed. There was no orignal map on that vote.

And again, I said I did not vote for those pieces of shit on that retarded 10 map vote we had, not because I didn't see it, but because there was no viable option that I wanted.

Which, again, should be addressed, but just gets ignored.

Like I said, run a keep it how it is, and the Original vote.

I guarantee Original will win by at least 70/30.
But instead, if this even gets done, you'll wait a week or 2 until no one really cares.
Assholes.

wow... name calling... i won't respond to this. at least i was smart enough to vote for the map i liked
and watch it win... ahem.... but keep calling me names if you think it will bring back your "beloved map". the
one that the MAJORITY asked to be changed, and that the MAJORITY are happy it has been changed.

more name calling... and guess what? it's not going to happen. now, please follow up on your word. time for you to stop logging in, and to let your premium run out. i don't care, as long as you go away or stop the spam... also, take the rest of the 7% if it means you will all stop spamming up the General Discussion...-0

p.s.-when you start name calling, you expose your ignorance and most people stop reading any further. you should be smarter than that... but then again, you weren't smart enough to vote...

I don't have a problems with corks, per se. I don't produce wine and don't have to shoulder the cost of wine returned because it was bad. That is their problem. If they think that the tradition behind corks is worth both the cost of the corks and the cost of lost product, that's fine with me. My problem is with people who resist other closures and specifically those who claim, without much evidence, that they're superior to crew caps, glass, or synthetic closures.

I also don't agree with pretty much everything else you said about wine, but what do I know. I only buy and sell it for a living. Oh wait, I write about it as well. None the less, I'm sure you've got it all figured out. Well, at least you've convinced yourself you have (life's much easier that way I suppose).

Back to the topic at hand. I'm going to have to take your word on the definition of "many". However, I've learned over time not to confuse the vocal minority with "many". It seems as if "many" have voted for a version of the map that is different than the one you guys are so staunchly supporting and not very "many" have voted for the original one.

None the less, I have faith in you. I have faith that somehow you can manage to spin this.

like ive said previously: when theres changes, people complain.
Specially on the web.
some whiners make it seems like its the end of the world while the consenting majority+ the ones who dont really care mostly stayy silent or dont even log on the forums.
I like what happened here.

Mega-Lol

It wasn't labelled as 'Original Classic' because then it would have got all of the nostalgia votes from senseless drones who just don't like change. That's why it got a neutral name, so it had as fair a chance as all of the other options.

Anyway, arguing with you is like trying to explain quantum theory to a wasp, so I'm just going to leave it for a couple of weeks until everyone forgets about this and nobody cares.

you write about wine, good man! (Chapter 6: 'The Pallets Search for Ripening Berries, With a Hint of Vanilla Pathos')
i would like your thoughts on what you disagree with ...if your tasting critiques only reach as far as "ewww it's icky" i will search elsewhere for esoteric reading on the nuances of fine wine.

as you say, back to subject: you appear to imply that the vote indicates the majority were happy with the previous change. have i read you correctly?

(also remember that not one of the choices were the original.. the colours were changed, which has happily slipped into history)

Let me get this straight, you've taken the changing of a map so personally that you've spammed the boards with complaints and are now investigating their finances? And I'm the little man? Really?
