Do you earn a card if you annihilate a territory?

Thanks. Sorry but I just wanted to be sure that you weren't mistaken and happened to take another spot on that turn. Christ man! How many games to you have going? You're staying busy! That WWII game is on page 4 of your total games and it's still going strong.

Well that's good to know. I thought it had already been established that you had to conquer a territory to receive a card. So did something change or was it always this way?

It's been that way since bombardments were introduced. I recall sitting on AAs in Pearl Harbor and collecting cards by bombarding neutrals so I didn't have to lose any armies, and there were a lot of discussions about having to get a new territory (to find a card), and why you shouldn't get one if you don't. Nothing came of them.

I think it was the Pearl Harbor thread that I was thinking about... and in my feeble mind it seemed that only a conquered territory provided a card. There is no explanation in the Instructions/Game Options as to how cards are awarded... only that you won't get one if time runs out while taking your turn.
