Last night, in a speed game i was playing, I had problems with my dropdown menu- the army numbers one. It happened a few times, whenever i would select 1 army it would switch to 3 armies before i could deploy the 1 army selected. I was tired and i thought nothing of it. (i thought that maybe i had been scrolling by accident). Then, this afternoon when i was taking a turn in a trips casual game, the same thing happened. Though, the dropdown menu was the country i was trying to fort to. I was trying to fort from St.Leonard to Hochelaga on the montreal map and whenever I had Hochelaga selected, it would change to a different country. I ended up having to close my browser and I had to go into the game again. I managed to fort that time...

After that, I decided to run virus and spyware scans. On my spyware scan, the usual tracking cookies came up but there was also a what they called "high risk" thing. All I could see was that was labelled with japanese or maybe korean characters. I put it in quarantine... I really have no idea if that "thing" i put in quarantine was the reason for the crazy drop downs.

I decided to post this just incase someone had the same problem? Or if anyone could shed some light on the problems I had.

i've had the same problem with countries switching on the drop down for deployment. i just refreshed
my cache, and it was fine... also, i have a mac, so i know it wasn't a virus, it was just really annoying...-0

The same thing has happened to me Poo- I just assumed it was the auto refresh resetting it to the original amount of armies to deploy at the beginning of the turn.

Oh ok... maybe the spyware thingy was just a conincidence.

The same thing happened again in a dubs freestlye i played with codeblue... when i wanted to fort to brazil, it kept on changing to india. Bloody annoying.

sounds pretty stupid. i dont know... your computer might have a bug, or its just screwed up at the moment. sorry

did you check the mouse scrollwheel?? perhaps dust is on the inside of the mouse and it makes the wheel unstable, or perhaps the wheel is simply old and overused and is unstable.

so the idea is do you experience strange scrolling only in the game drop down menus or in all kinds of scrollable windows?

I had a problem like this. I couldn't select anything except the first option in a drop down list. So I ended up attacking territories in alphabetical order and moving all my troops along. Couldn't fortify either. Needless to say, I lost that game pretty quick.

It was fixed by closing and opening my browser.

Ok, when i am forting as fast a i can in freestyle speed, i don't scroll down the page, (I play with the small map and scroll slightly down the page at the start of the moves and I leave it there). That way, I can see the map and the dropdowns and theres no need to scroll down to use them. Since i didn't have to be as fast as possible in forting that round.

On every one of those forts, I had selected brazil to fort to. I didn't use my scroll wheel at all during those forts. All I used was my mouse to select the dropdowns and numbers. I've changed over to clicky maps in my standard games now, but I can't play as well using clicky in team games... theres way too many split deployments and forting. I disable clicky maps whenever I play dubs btw...
