I realise that to figure out the points that transfer when you win/ lose is:
The points to be awarded is calculated as (loser's score / winner's score) * 20, up to a maximum of 100 points from each opponent
But how do you figure out the score? Is it something simple like armies total or is it more complicated than that?

Score = Your total points.
You find it in your Profile.

There are two ways, they both return the same value, but one may be easier to calculate than the other:
1) average the individual scores of the winning team and each losing team. then calculate the point change based on the same formula for singles games
(loser score)/(winner score)*20 with a max of 100, then the change each person's individual score by that amount
2) total the points from the winning team and each losing team. then calculate the point change based on the same formula for singles games
