What do you guys think about people who leave negs for dead beating in a game where it has no effect on the outcome? Say an 8 man speed game and 1 person misses. Thoughts?

How so? I a player signs up for a speed game which is 8 man... Freestyle no less.. soo not like there is a lot of time wasted. This has no effect on the outcome of the game and is basically free points. People do have lives besides CC and things happen. That is sooo lame if you ask me.
Edited to add... If it had a serious outcome on the game then maybe I could see it, but otherwise not... I also do not like giving negs.

a deadbeat is a deadbeat regardless of circumstances or effect on the outcome of the game.
however just like any other negative feedback one can try talking with the person that left the negative and explain the reasons for deadbeating.

Honestly, I don't really have the huge hang-up with guys deadbeating some seem to have. Especially in a speed game. I had a few hours to kill once and joined a speed game. Next thing you know, the thing kept on dragging on and on and I had to go. It also happened that I was the weakest on the board and basically asked the two players to decide where the fairest place was for me to hole up and die because I had to go. They were cool about it, I pulled my guys off any major borders so nobody would get a free block and that was that.
Really, I am completely in favor of guys getting kicked out for missing 3 turns and, frankly would like to see something where guys get kicked out for missing, say 4 of 5 turns in a row or something. However, that's enough.
Perhaps there could be some flag on your account if you deadbeat a bunch of times so people know that you're the type do so frequently (which I think is lame).
However, that seems to be reason #1 for people leaving negs and, quite frankly, that is way down the list for my criteria. I am way more inclined to be pissed if a guy misses a few turns and doesn't bother to apologize to the board or quite simply if the guy plays like an idiot (which, ironically is sort of a taboo reason for giving someone neg feedback).

if you know you're gonna deadbeat and move in a corner of the map not to disturb people and furthermore if you announce you're gonna deadbeat then it's ok.
but generally people deadbeat without announcing and you can mistake 1 or 2 misses for attempts to get a multiplied bonus. and you bother breaking their bonus only to realize they aren't coming back so you wasted armies for nothing.
also it really sucks when the deadbeat acts as defence. i was in a game where i struggled really hard to survive, played clever and managed to start coming back in the game. as i was begining to take control a guy deadbeated and provided a 200 troop border for the third guy. not only that but the third guy now was in the position of having a nice border plus he had 200 troops of his own that he could move from that border and use them against me instead of having them blocked. so the deadbeat simply screwed the game

Well that is a different story entirely.

Apples and oranges.... This player in the game I was never showed up. He simply forgot to take the game off his list. The noob decides he is leaving a neg no matter what. Math the guy who DB'd said sorry, but this guy wanted to leave a neg no matter what. I got a neg for telling this guy I would ignore list him if he gave the DB'ing person a neg. In fact this guy mainly leaves negs. Tells you all you need to know about him... Check it out...
